Six traffic flow situations in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 30/4 holiday

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Traffic Police Department has just had a plan to remotely control traffic flow to resolve traffic congestion in Ho Chi Minh City and related localities.

This plan aims to ensure security and safety for important political events taking place in the City such as: The 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the United Nations Vesak Festival in 2025.

Accordingly, there are 6 situations:

Situation 1, National Highway 13 in the Central Highlands to and from the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City is not accessible, traffic flow is as follows: From the Central Highlands provinces (Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong) to the Western provinces (Long An, Tien Giang, etc.), when traveling on National Highway 13 → turn left on DT741 (at So Sao intersection) → My Phuoc, Tan Van → Pham Ngoc Thach → Huynh Van Cu (or from National Highway 13 → turn right on Nguyen Van Long Street → turn right onto Huynh Van Cu Street) → Phu Cuong Bridge → turn left onto Ha Duy Phien → turn right onto Vo Van Bich → turn left onto Do Van Day → Ba Trieu → turn left onto Xuyen A Road - turn right onto National Highway 1 → Binh Tri Dong → Tan Tao → Cho Dem → Ho Chi Minh City → Trung Luong → Ap Bac (My Tho city) or onto National Highway 50 and vice versa.

Situation 2, National Highway 1 North to and from Ho Chi Minh City gateway is not accessible, traffic flow will be divided as follows:

- From the Northern provinces (Binh Thuan, Dong Nai) to the Western provinces (Long An, Tien Giang,...):

+ To Bien Hoa, follow National Highway 1 → 30/4 Park → Nguyen Ai Quoc Street → Hoa An Bridge → cross the bridge and turn right onto Bui Huu Nghia Street (old Provincial Road DT16) → DT 747A → Tan Ba ​​intersection, turn onto DT747B → Ong Cu Temple intersection → DT 743A → (Shijar intersection, turn right onto My Phuoc - Tan Van → My Phuoc-Tan Van intersection + Pham Ngoc Thach, turn left onto Pham Ngoc Thach → Phuoc Kien intersection → turn right onto Huynh Van Cu Street) Sao Quy intersection → Binh Duong Boulevard → Phuoc Kien intersection → turn left onto Huynh Van Cu Street → Phu Cuong Bridge → turn left onto Ha Duy Phien → turn right onto Vo Van Bich → Xang Bridge → District Road 65B → Thanh Nien → Provincial Road DT824 → Provincial Road DT9 → to Duc Hoa Bridge → Road N2 (at Long Thanh) → to Long An and vice versa.

+ From Binh Thuan, go to Ba Bau intersection (km 00), Xuan Loc intersection (km 63), National Highway 56 intersection on Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway, Dau Giay intersection to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway → Ho Chi Minh City.

+ At the intersection of National Highway 1A and Vo Nguyen Giap Street, follow Vo Nguyen Giap Street → roundabout gate 11 → turn left onto National Highway 51 → Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway → Ho Chi Minh City.

+ At Tri An intersection, turn right onto DT 767 road → Co Cay Xoai road → onto DT 768 road → Thu Bien bridge DT 746 (Bac Tan Uyen district) → Binh Duong (follow the routes of Thu Dau Mot city) → Ho Chi Minh City.

+ At Vung Tau intersection, turn left onto National Highway 51 → Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway or turn right across An Hao Bridge → Buu Hoa Bridge → turn right onto old Provincial Road DT 16 → the intersection of National Highway 1K and Bui Huu Nghia Street → Binh Duong.

Situation 3, Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway to Ho Chi Minh City is not accessible, traffic flow is as follows: From the Western provinces (Long An, Tien Giang, ...) to the Central Highlands provinces (Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Dac Nong, ...), from My Tho city, follow National Highway 60 → Trung Luong roundabout → National Highway 1 → DT866 → National Highway 62 → National Highway N2 (North - South Expressway, West) → turn right on DT823 → DT08 → to Thu Dau Mot city and vice versa.

Situation 4, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway into Ho Chi Minh City is not accessible, traffic flow is as follows:

- Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway has traffic jams: From Binh Thuan and Dong Nai provinces to Ho Chi Minh City, go to Long Thanh intersection → turn right onto National Highway 51 → turn left at Vung Tau intersection onto National Highway 1A → Dong Nai bridge → Ho Chi Minh City or from National Highway 51 → Nhon Trach intersection → turn right onto Road 25B → Cat Lai ferry → Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa.

- Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway has traffic congestion on Highway 51 from Ba Ria - Vung Tau to the expressway. Traffic is divided as follows:

+ At km 63: At the roundabout in the center of Ba Ria, turn right onto Nguyen Huu Tho street → Hung Vuong → Hoa Long roundabout, turn left → National Highway 56 → Dong Nai.

+ At km 62: Follow Nguyen Huu Canh street, turn left → Le Trong Tan street, turn right → Van Tien Dung street, turn left → 3/2 street, turn right → Mo Xoai street → new Hoa Long roundabout, turn left → National Highway 56 → Dong Nai → National Highway 1 → Ho Chi Minh City.

+ At km 54: Follow Hoi Bai - Chau Pha intersection → Highway 1 → Duc My roundabout, turn left → National Highway 56 → Dong Nai → National Highway 1 → Ho Chi Minh City.

+ At km 44+300: Follow Highway 8 → Toc Tien intersection, turn left → Hac Dich roundabout, turn right → My Xuan - Hoa Binh road → Ngai Giao roundabout, turn left → National Highway 56 → Dong Nai → National Highway 1 → Ho Chi Minh City.

+ At km 37: Follow Phuoc Binh road, turn right → Hac Dich roundabout, turn left → My Xuan – Ngai Giao road → Ngai Giao roundabout, turn left → National Highway 56 → Dong Nai → National Highway 1 → Ho Chi Minh City.

Situation 5, National Highway 22 to the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City is closed, vehicles from Tay Ninh to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa: Trang Bang Town (Tay Ninh) → DT822 → National Highway N2 turn left → DT823 → Trans-Asia Highway - Cu Chi overpass - Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa.

Situation 6: National Highway 1 from Long An to Ho Chi Minh City is closed to traffic, traffic flow is as follows:

- Cars follow National Highway 1 → National Highway 62 → Trung Luong Expressway - Ho Chi Minh City.

- Two-wheeled vehicles follow National Highway 1 → National Highway 62 → National Highway N2 → DT 824 (Duc Hoa) → DT09 Hoc Mon or take DT 825 (Duc Hoa) → DT10 through Binh Chanh, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Traffic Police Department, when there is a request to divert traffic and resolve traffic jams from a distance, the traffic police commander at the location of the traffic jam must immediately report to the provincial or municipal police leaders and the Traffic Police Department leaders. At the same time, notify the heads of traffic police departments of relevant localities to implement the plan under the general direction of the Traffic Police Department leaders.

Traffic situation, congestion, and traffic routes must be announced to the mass media to widely inform traffic participants, help them choose appropriate travel routes, avoid traffic jams, and comply with traffic flow and regulation requirements of the authorities.

When receiving a request for coordination in traffic diversion, the police of relevant units and localities must organize the implementation of measures to ensure traffic order and safety, deploy traffic diversion posts, and regulate traffic according to the approved plan.
