On the afternoon of October 8th, information from the Inspectorate of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province indicated that the unit had just announced the results of the inspection and review of exam scores of candidates in the entrance exam for 10th grade in high schools for the 2024-2025 school year, following a complaint letter.
Accordingly, the Inspectorate of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province recently established an inspection team and discovered discrepancies in the exam results of candidate CTH, born in 2009, registration number 721xxx, at the Le Hong Phong High School examination board in Bim Son town during the 2024-2025 high school entrance exam for grade 10.
Specifically, the announced scores for candidate CTH were: Math 8 points, Literature 8.5 points, English 6.4 points. However, upon checking the exam papers, the actual results were only Math 4.5 points, Literature 6.5 points, and English 2.4 points.
According to the Inspectorate of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, the cause of this incident is believed to be a "mistake" in the process of reviewing and assigning scores at the Ngoc Lac High School Examination Board.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, Chief Inspector of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, said that through the inspection and verification process, the family and the examination board affirmed that there were no negative elements in the erroneous entry of the candidate's scores.
Based on the entrance exam cutoff score for Le Hong Phong High School for the 2024-2025 school year, this student did not have enough points to pass the 10th grade. Therefore, on September 25, 2024, the Le Hong Phong High School Examination Board issued a notice stating that candidate CTH did not have enough points to pass the entrance exam and was forced to discontinue their studies.
Reportedly, CTH students were the top scorers when the entrance exam results for 10th grade at Le Hong Phong High School for the 2024-2025 school year were announced.
