At the Conference, the Executive Committee of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee resolved and agreed on the Proposal of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the Project to merge Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces.

The delegates at the Conference resolved and agreed on the plan to merge the current administrative units of Bac Lieu province and Ca Mau province into Ca Mau province. The administrative and political center of Ca Mau province (after the merger of the two provinces) is the current administrative and political center of Ca Mau province.

The recently passed resolution also agreed on the requirement to ensure effective implementation of the two-level government model; proactively arrange leadership and management at the provincial and communal levels to meet task requirements.

Ca Mau province arranges the staff, civil servants, public employees and workers of local agencies and organizations, stabilizes life, ensures national defense, security and socio-economic development requirements in administrative units after the arrangement.

The Standing Committee of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee led the Steering Committee and the Working Group to synthesize and receive comments from members of the Party Executive Committees of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces. At the same time, urgently coordinate with relevant agencies to complete the content of the Project to report through competent authorities as prescribed.

The Party Committee of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee directed the Provincial People's Committee to complete the collection of opinions from voters representing households; submit to the Provincial People's Council for approval on April 28, 2025 and complete all documents to send to the Ministry of Home Affairs for appraisal, submit to the Government for consideration, submit to the National Assembly to ensure progress according to regulations.
