After the number of newly established enterprises

In the first 9 months of 2024, Thanh Hoa had more than 2,400 newly registered enterprises, an increase of 22.51% over the same period. With this result, Thanh Hoa became the 8th locality in the country and the top of the provinces in the North Central region in terms of newly established enterprises. In particular, some districts have a high number of newly established enterprises compared to the 2024 plan, up to over 160%. Some districts even reached 180% of the plan such as Nhu Xuan district.

To achieve that result, in addition to the efforts of the province and functional sectors in the province, many districts have built specific policies to support start-ups and business development. Especially, investing heavily in production and business infrastructure such as industrial clusters to create conditions for businesses to easily rent premises. Many localities also support businesses in accessing legal and preferential loans from credit institutions. These measures have created a strong driving force to promote start-up businesses.

However, a reality that has happened in many localities is that the plan to assign the establishment of new large enterprises makes the locality increase the number of enterprises at all costs. Meanwhile, the initial support measures of the government are only like "bait" to stimulate start-up enterprises, but do not guarantee long-term. There are enterprises that are only established on paper or declare bankruptcy after a very short time. This is like trying to complete the plan to plant trees as long as it covers the bare land and hills, but not paying attention to care, leading to the trees dying, the stunted trees struggling to grow in the harsh weather later.

Happy about the number of newly established enterprises, but besides that there are also sad numbers, that is the number of enterprises that stopped operating, dissolved in the same period is also very large. Among these enterprises, there are also enterprises that were stimulated to be established by the "milk" of the initial preferential policies of the localities. Many other enterprises were born following the trend, while the production and business capacity was not available, the financial potential was not guaranteed, so they could not survive in the harshness of the market.

Establishing a new business is easy, but whether the business can develop or not depends on the production and business environment, in which besides the aspirations and efforts of the business, the appropriate and long-term support from the government and functional agencies plays a very important role. Do not think that completing the plan to establish a new business is the completion of the task.

Thanh Hoa province has what it needs: the number of newly established enterprises. The sufficient condition is that the functional sectors and localities must have appropriate support measures, long-term companionship, and remove difficulties, so that enterprises can develop sustainably, and not let the situation happen where there are many newly established enterprises but equally many enterprises withdraw from the market.
