Similarly, leaf blast disease has also arisen and caused damage in some communes such as: Lam Trung Thuy (Duc Tho); Xuan Hoi, Dan Truong (Nghi Xuan), some communes of Thach Ha district... According to records, the diseased area is scattered, appearing on early-planted tea with an average disease rate of 1 - 3%, in some high places from 5 - 7%, mainly concentrated on the varieties: NX30, P6, Thai Xuyen 111, Xi23...

According to the industry, in addition to leaf blast disease, some pests have also appeared on spring rice such as: small leaf rollers causing local damage in some early-planted rice areas in Can Loc and Loc Ha districts with a density of 7-10 individuals/m 2 ; golden apple snails have occurred and caused damage on 87 hectares in Cam Xuyen, Duc Tho and Hong Linh districts in low-lying, flooded rice fields with a density of 3-5 individuals/m 2 , and in high places from 5-7 individuals/m 2 . At the same time, thrips and rats have caused damage mainly on direct-seeded areas in Duc Tho, Loc Ha and Hong Linh districts with a total of more than 65 hectares.
Mr. Phan Van Thanh - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Director of the Center for Application of Science and Technology and Protection of Plants and Livestock of Loc Ha district said: "This crop, the whole district planted over 3,200 hectares of rice of all kinds. Currently, rice is entering the tillering period and some diseases such as thrips, small leaf rollers, and harmful rats have appeared... In the face of the above situation, local authorities and specialized sectors have proactively developed and promptly implemented solutions to prevent and control pests and diseases from spreading widely and affecting the growth of rice."

From February 23, Ha Tinh has had a cold spell causing rain. In addition, the Vu Thuy - Kinh Trap weather pattern maintains cloudy skies, little sunshine, high humidity, and an average temperature of 17-22 0 C, favorable for the spores of rice blast fungus to spread, germinate, and infect.
Meanwhile, during this period, farmers apply fertilizer to help rice plants grow strongly in stems and leaves. This is a favorable condition for rice blast disease to arise and cause damage and has the risk of spreading widely, causing localized burnout in some areas, especially on susceptible varieties.
Experts recommend that farmers need to actively monitor their fields, promptly detect and prevent rice pests and diseases.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tong Phong - Deputy Head of the Ha Tinh Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection: For densely planted areas, farmers need to thin out, ensure appropriate density, maintain enough water to create favorable conditions for spring rice to grow well, and increase disease resistance. For rice areas that have appeared with leaf blast disease and are at risk of infection, farmers should stop fertilizing with nitrogen, do not spray foliar fertilizers containing nitrogen; spray pesticides when the weather is clear, spray evenly on the leaves, after spraying for 5-7 days, check if acute disease spots appear, then proceed with the second treatment.
In addition to rice blast disease, farmers need to monitor the development of pests such as rice stem borers, thrips, rats, golden apple snails, etc. to carry out timely and effective prevention and control. In the process of organizing disease prevention and control in spring rice, it is recommended that localities strengthen state management of plant protection drugs, proactively coordinate with drug suppliers to train and guide production facilities and farmers on prevention techniques, etc.
