A representative of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board said that storm Yagi caused damage to most of the industrial park infrastructure enterprises in Hai Phong, many trees in the industrial park were broken, and the infrastructure and telecommunications systems were affected.
Some businesses were heavily affected after the storm, such as: Do Son Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited, Sao Do Investment Group Joint Stock Company, and infrastructure businesses of the DEEP C industrial park complex.
Secondary enterprises (infrastructure exploitation businesses) in industrial parks in Hai Phong also suffered heavy losses. According to preliminary statistics, about 200 enterprises suffered losses of about 480 billion VND.

A representative of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board said that up to now, businesses in industrial parks and economic zones in Hai Phong have resumed production, but businesses need at least 3 months to recover.
At a recent conference to meet businesses in industrial parks and economic zones organized by the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, business representatives hoped that insurance companies would speed up the process of assessing and compensating for damages so that businesses affected by Typhoon Yagi would have funds to restore production.
Mr. Jung Hyeok, general director of LS Metal Vina Company - representing a group of manufacturing enterprises in the DEEP C industrial park - proposed that social insurance pay a portion of workers' salaries due to production stoppage, helping companies retain workers and reduce financial burdens.

In addition, Mr. Jung Hyeok wants customs, tax, and fire departments to postpone inspections so that companies can fully focus on recovery efforts.
Representatives of businesses in the DEEP C industrial park proposed that authorities temporarily reduce many types of taxes such as value added tax, electricity and water bills to reduce the financial burden during the recovery process.
Some businesses also requested the Hai Phong Customs Department to quickly resolve procedures related to the import of damaged equipment due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi.

Mr. Le Trung Kien, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, said that for matters under their authority, the board's leaders will directly work with relevant agencies to come up with the most beneficial solutions for businesses, such as declaring a state of emergency in the DEEP C industrial park and working with businesses to have insurance companies carry out compensation procedures as soon as possible.
At the same time, the committee proposed that banks support businesses with low-interest loans to restore production and invest in new equipment, and recommended that relevant agencies allow businesses to extend the deadline for paying taxes and fees.
