In recent days, due to the influence of storm No. 3, Yen Bai city has had heavy rain lasting for many days, causing the Thao river to rise, severely flooding streets such as Thanh Nien, Dien Bien , Hoang Hoa Tham, Tran Hung Dao, and Tran Quang Khai. According to Lao Dong's report on September 17, after the water receded, on these streets, many families were actively cleaning up and overcoming the consequences of the flood. While busy cleaning and tidying up her belongings, Ms. Bui Thi Xuan (24 years old, employee of a phone store in Hong Ha ward) said that during the recent flood, she was lucky to have evacuated her belongings in time so there was no significant damage. After the water receded, the house was covered in mud, so the cleanup was quite difficult. “As of now, we have opened the store for sale, today there are only a few plastic accessories that need cleaning,” said Ms. Xuan. Just like Ms. Xuan's store, Ms. Tran Thi Su (Kiosk 20, Yen Bai City Market) is also urgently cleaning up so that the watch store can operate again. Mrs. Su could not hide her worry: "Almost all the watches in the store were damaged by water. Now my husband and I are cleaning them to see if we can save any so they can work again soon." The woman was busy cleaning the watch racks at the store. Yen Bai City market traders support each other to overcome the consequences after the storm. As soon as the water receded, together with the authorities, households in the city actively cleaned up, washed their belongings, and quickly overcame the consequences. With the spirit of mutual love and support, many households helped each other stabilize their lives.
According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Yen Bai, as of the afternoon of September 17, storms in the area have killed 50 people due to landslides, 3 people died due to flooding, 1 person is missing and 42 people were injured.
In addition, 25,263 houses were flooded, landslides, and swept away by floods.
