The theme of this Trade Promotion Conference with foreign trade offices is “Discussion on the Project to establish Da Nang Free Trade Zone. The role of Vietnamese trade offices abroad”. The event will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 on October 31 at the Ministry of Industry and Trade Headquarters, Hanoi.
Previously, at the 7th session, the 15th National Assembly passed a Resolution on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city. The National Assembly agreed to establish the Da Nang free trade zone associated with Lien Chieu seaport, with the goal of attracting investment, finance, trade, tourism and high-quality services.

According to the Department of Construction of Da Nang City, the city will build a decentralized free trade zone with 9 locations planned to be built into functional areas: production area, logistics area and trade - service area, with a total area of over 1,700 hectares. These locations are proposed by departments, branches, sectors and districts.
Location 1 is the area behind Lien Chieu seaport (east of Lien Chieu seaport, west of Lien Chieu Industrial Park) in Hoa Hiep Bac ward (Lien Chieu district) with an area of about 100 hectares with the function of a logistics area.
Location 2 is a piece of land with an area of about 100 hectares along the Nam Hai Van bypass (east of Lien Chieu Industrial Park) from Cu De River to the north of Nam Hai Van transfer station in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, planned to be a logistics area.
Location 3 is an area of about 400 hectares north of Cu De River in Hoa Lien commune (Hoa Vang district), planned to be a production area.
Location 4 has a total area of 559 hectares, used as a production area including Da Nang High-Tech Park with an area of 259 hectares and an area of about 300 hectares of the expansion of Da Nang High-Tech Park in Hoa Ninh commune (Hoa Vang district).
Location 5 at the foot of Ba Na mountain in Hoa Ninh commune with an area of about 90 hectares is planned to be a commercial and service area.
Location 6 is the area on both sides of Ba Na - Suoi Mo road, bordering Truoc Dong lake to the Northeast with an area of about 154 hectares in Hoa Nhon commune (Hoa Vang district), planned to be a commercial - service area.
Location 7 is also on both sides of Ba Na - Suoi Mo road, adjacent to Truoc Dong lake to the southwest with an area of about 53 hectares in Hoa Nhon commune, planned to be a commercial - service area.
Location 8 belongs to the planned area of Hoa Nhon Industrial Park with an area of about 200 hectares, expected to be a logistics area.
Location 9 in the southwest area of Da Nang airport (adjacent to Truong Chinh street) with an area of about 80 hectares, is expected to be used as a logistics area.
