According to VNA, the Quadrantid meteor shower will take place between December 28, 2023 and January 12, 2024 and will peak on the night of January 3-4, 2024.
The International Meteor Organization (IMO) estimates that up to 120 meteors will be visible in an hour on peak nights; equivalent to 1-2 meteors per minute in clear skies.
The Quadrantids meteor shower tends to radiate from the constellation Bootes and is named after the ancient constellation Quadrans Muralis, which was created by dust particles left behind by Comet 2003 EH1 as it passed through Earth's orbit.
Scientists say the best time to observe is after midnight, when the meteor is at its highest point on the northeastern horizon.
