We were surprised to see some video art, experimental art film products made by teenage “producers”. Each product is a story, lasting from 4-5 minutes, with simple, easy-to-understand thinking and clear messages. Although not complete or profound, the products reflect the students’ feelings about things observed in life.
To produce a video art product, students learned theory in class under the guidance of subject teachers. Then, they were divided into groups to discuss, come up with ideas and assign tasks. Through the activity, students recognized the form of expression in terms of context, images, colors, lights, composition in frames, content and main message of the film. From there, they formed the initial concept of contemporary art film.
Each group of about 10 students will take on the roles of actors, cameramen, and editors. To get satisfactory scenes, students must create a detailed script, discuss with teachers for comments and editing. Then, organize filming, taking photos, editing... using mobile devices. We were quite impressed with the video "Our Youth" produced by a group of students from class 9A3, Tan Tien Secondary School, Dong Phu district. The message of this product is the value of folk games of the 8X, 9X generation..., reflecting a carefree time, when electronic devices were not known and the burning dreams of the young generation at that time. A story with depth, with many scenes filmed, edited skillfully, rich materials. The students have invested in thinking and creativity when using selective, appropriate music , extremely short but extremely cool dialogue, captivating viewers from beginning to end.

Nguyen Ky Duyen, the production team leader, said that thanks to the suggestions of the Art teacher and the creativity of the team, they came up with ideas, prepared props, and chose the right setting. It took them 2 days to produce this video, with the hope of bringing viewers a “ticket” back to their childhood.
Nguyen Khanh Vy, who took on the role of cameraman and editor, shared: I tried to learn the shooting angles and thought a lot when working because I wanted all members of the group to express themselves through the images. Luckily, we found a suitable wooden house as the setting, creating the most authentic feeling, when people look at it, they will feel nostalgic about their childhood.
The Fine Arts program focuses on experiential learning, flexibly applying methods, forms of organization, and learning activity spaces to mobilize knowledge, stimulate students' imagination, and aesthetic visual thinking; creating opportunities for students to apply knowledge and skills into practice. Experimenting with creative ideas and bringing creative products into life, focusing on combiningeducational methods with the exploitation and reasonable use of teaching equipment, the internet, and taking advantage of locally available materials and materials. Completing the subject content, students can state the process of making experimental art films at a simple level, shoot materials to create sources for short films according to the determined theme, edit content and images on the corresponding software, and consciously use products to promote a number of topics that they perceive in school as well as in family and society.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hoa, Tan Tien Secondary School, in charge of this subject, said that through the filmmaking lessons, she felt that the students worked together in groups, promoted creativity, and were consistent in assigning tasks to complete tasks, helping them develop their presentation skills and shape some production ideas. In addition, some students love art such as graphics, software design, some want to be reporters, film makers, and film editors, so these lessons are very useful and interesting for them to express themselves.
In addition to the content of experimental art filmmaking, 9th grade students also learn and practice the content of painting, graphics, sculpture, industrial design, fashion... This is basic and necessary knowledge for them to be able to approach and become familiar with some professional skills, discover their own talents to nurture their passion, and determine their future career.
