Mr. Do Cong Trung, Vice Chairman of Loc Binh District People's Council, said: The work of reviewing for the 10th grade entrance exam in the district still has limitations such as the uneven quality of the teaching staff, facilities, and teaching methods at schools; some teachers have not yet found effective review solutions, review is not focused; students' self-study awareness and review results are not regularly assessed... Therefore, there needs to be solutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning to help students achieve higher results in exams.
Since the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, the District Department of Education and Training has identified the key task of improving the score distribution of the 10th grade entrance exam, striving to increase the score distribution of all three subjects of Math, Literature, and English compared to the previous school year, the rate of students passing the 10th grade entrance exam has increased from 78% to 80%. As the leader of the District Department of Education and Training, the author has synchronously implemented solutions including: changing the awareness of managers and teachers in the work of reviewing for the 10th grade entrance exam; innovating management work, methods, ways of reviewing and testing; organizing professional activities by school cluster, inter-school, inter-district; coordinating between families, schools, and society in reviewing for the exam; strengthening inspection, counseling, and doing a good job of emulation and rewards.
The district Department of Education and Training has improved the capacity of teachers of Mathematics, Literature, and English through centralized training, organizing competitions, teaching conferences, creative writing competitions, building test banks, and digital documents for exam preparation; directing schools to equip books and reference materials, and building digital libraries to serve teachers and students; establishing a core professional team to research, evaluate, and approve the exam preparation plans of schools. At the same time, the department directed schools to survey the quality of grade 9 students as a basis for dividing subjects and developing appropriate study plans.

Thanks to the synchronous application of solutions, the average score of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year of schools in Loc Binh district achieved remarkable results. Specifically, in the 2024-2025 school year, the average score for Math was 5.20, an increase of 0.1 points compared to the target, ranking 4th in the province; Literature was 5.97, an increase of 0.62 points compared to the target, ranking 9th in the province; English was 3.32 points, an increase of 0.2 points compared to the target, ranking 7th in the province. The number of candidates passing the 10th grade entrance exam for high school reached 90.5%, an increase of 12.5% compared to the previous school year. Notably, the whole district had 43/47 students passing the 10th grade entrance exam for Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, including 2 valedictorians and 1 salutatorian.
In parallel with the application in Loc Binh district, the initiative was also shared with the Department of Education and Training of Van Quan and Trang Dinh districts for application. Mr. Ngo Van Hien, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Van Quan district, said: The application of author Do Cong Trung's initiative in secondary schools in the district has contributed to improving the effectiveness of 10th grade entrance exam preparation for students. In the 2024-2025 10th grade entrance exam, Van Quan district's average score in Literature ranked 2nd in the province; Math ranked 5th; English ranked 6th; the rate of students passing the 10th grade high school exam reached more than 90%, an increase of 0.86% compared to the 2023-2024 school year.
The initiative "Solutions to improve the quality of 10th grade entrance exam preparation for the Department of Education and Training of Loc Binh district" has brought about practical results in improving the quality of 10th grade entrance exam preparation in Loc Binh district and some other districts. In early 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee confirmed the effectiveness of the application and the possibility of replication of the initiative. After being effectively applied, the content of the initiative was shared and replicated to help students in the province improve their learning outcomes.
