In times of peace as well as war, the armed forces of Hai Duong province have always wholeheartedly served the Fatherland and the people, upholding the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

In early October, a large-scale forest fire broke out in the An Phu mountain range, An Sinh ward, Kinh Mon town.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Military Command of Kinh Mon town quickly mobilized officers, soldiers, vehicles, and other functional forces to the scene of the fire to extinguish it promptly.

Battling the blaze throughout the night, officers and soldiers of the town's armed forces, along with other participating forces, managed to bring the fire under control after 18 hours.

Recognizing that disaster prevention, response, mitigation, and rescue are among the key combat missions of the army and armed forces in peacetime, the province has focused its leadership and guidance on ensuring thorough training for its officers and soldiers.
The officers and soldiers of Hai Duong province, undeterred by difficulties and hardships, were always present early and promptly to support the government and help the local people overcome the consequences of typhoon No. 3.
There were sleepless nights, hurried meals, and upon receiving orders, they would quickly set off on their missions.
With the motto "saving lives first, property second," determined not to leave people homeless, hungry, or cold, the unit's officers and soldiers helped repair more than 100 houses, schools, and public buildings that had their roofs blown off or walls collapsed, and rescued hundreds of hectares of crops that were flooded.
Images of soldiers carrying elderly people and young children to evacuation centers, or wading through the rain to build dikes to prevent flooding and mitigate the consequences of Typhoon No. 3, leave a beautiful impression of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army.
Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, from Zone 2, Nhi Chau Ward (Hai Duong City), emotionally said: “The river water rose, flooding the roads and causing great anxiety for people living outside the dike. The soldiers arrived promptly, providing support and ensuring the safety of people's lives and property, so everyone is grateful and touched.”

Military units have been implementing various initiatives to assist the people and support families entitled to preferential treatment and those who have rendered meritorious service, with widespread and effective implementation over the years.
These are the models: "The Army joins forces to build new rural areas," "Remembering the source of the water you drink," "Showing gratitude and repaying kindness," "The Army joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind"...
Colonel Nguyen Trong Hung, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Hai Duong Provincial Military Command, stated: “The meaningful and practical projects and tasks of the officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces have left a positive impression on the people, creating closeness and connection between the military and the people. This has contributed to building a strong foundation of public support, consolidating national defense and security, and strengthening the relationship between the soldiers of Uncle Ho and the people.”

Despite the cold winter weather, on the training ground of the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company, Staff Department, Provincial Military Command, the soldiers are still diligently practicing.
With the spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain, diligently training," each comrade strived to excel in training and achieve the highest results in the peak emulation campaign to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
Considered the "steel fist" of the provincial military forces, the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company consistently improves its training quality and combat readiness. For challenging training exercises, the unit divides into smaller training groups, then conducts joint training sessions to review and learn from experience right on the training ground.
Even at night, officers and soldiers in the unit organize training and marches to familiarize themselves with all weather conditions, ready to carry out missions at any time.

During wartime, reconnaissance soldiers were always at the forefront, advancing into the battlefield to gather intelligence, images, and create maps. In peacetime, officers and soldiers in reconnaissance units are assigned many very important tasks, including protecting important targets in the province when ordered.

Training, drills, and combat readiness are crucial elements that determine the overall quality and combat strength of the provincial armed forces.
The Provincial Military Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command have implemented numerous solutions to improve the quality of training and exercises, contributing to building an increasingly strong provincial defense zone.
In combat training, units actively innovate in terms of content, organization, and methods, closely aligning with requirements, tasks, and operational areas.
Every year, relevant units invest funds in building and renovating training grounds and practice areas, and creating new training equipment. The movement to write innovative ideas is widely implemented, with many models applied in agencies and units to serve training work.
Colonel Vu Hong Anh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Commander of the Provincial Military Command, stated: "Training, combat readiness, building a regular army, and instilling discipline are considered the central and regular political tasks of the army in peacetime. This is an important content, creating a foundation for building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern People's Army, meeting the requirements of national defense in all situations."

With the philosophy of combining training with competition, the Hai Duong Provincial Military Command has consistently focused on improving the quality of competitions and sports events.
Party committees, commanders, and functional agencies at all levels should pay attention to leading, directing, guiding, and planning, determining the content of competitions and sports events comprehensively, with a focus on key areas; combining theory with practice, closely aligned with reality, and linked to the professional tasks of each agency and unit, and the responsibilities of each officer and soldier.
The Hai Duong Provincial Military Command has leveraged the role of Party committees and commanders at all levels in organizing and selecting participating forces, assigning specific tasks to each trainer; investing time, funds, and facilities; and developing plans and organizing rigorous training.
From 2021 to the present, all levels within the provincial armed forces have organized more than 20 competitions and sports events (at both provincial and district levels) in almost all fields, achieving the set targets.
Lieutenant Colonel Doan Van Huan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Thanh Mien District Military Command, is an active participant and has achieved many high results in competitions and sports events. Lieutenant Colonel Huan shared: “These competitions are opportunities for me to self-assess and recognize my personal abilities, thereby making adjustments, consolidating my knowledge, and applying it in my work at the unit.”
In 2024, the Provincial Military Command won the gold medal at the All-Army Television Film Festival; first prize at the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" competition of the armed forces of Military Region 3; and won the gold medal in unarmed combat, 57-60 kg category, at the 2024 National Defense Sports Games organized by the Ministry of National Defense…
From 1975 to the present, the armed forces of Hai Duong province have been honored with numerous commendations from the Party, State, Government, Ministry of National Defense, Military Region Command, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee for their performance in local defense and military tasks and the emulation movement for decisive victory.

On December 19th, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee solemnly organized a meeting to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.
Delivering a speech at the meeting, reviewing the important historical milestones in the building, fighting, and growth of the armed forces of Hai Duong province over the past 77 years, Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, assessed: The glorious victories and outstanding achievements of the provincial armed forces have written heroic pages of history, contributing to further enhancing the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army and the revolutionary tradition of Hai Duong province, worthy of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces bestowed by the Party and the State .
