According to initial information, at around 6:17 a.m. on January 28 (ie 29th of Tet), the 114 Command Information Center - Hanoi City Police received a fire alarm at a factory building at 526 Nguyen Van Giap Street (Cau Dien Ward, Nam Tu Liem District).

At the scene, the fire was large and spread quickly through 3-4 factories including: Auto repair, furniture, advertising sign printing, formwork storage...

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Nam Tu Liem District Police dispatched 4 fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. However, due to strong winds and the presence of many flammable materials inside the factory, the fire flared up fiercely.

The 114 Command Information Center - Hanoi City Police mobilized 12 fire fighting vehicles from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Teams of Bac Tu Liem and Cau Giay District Police, and the Fire Fighting and Rescue Center of Area 2 - Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hanoi Police to support.

After about 45 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished. According to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police, the fire did not cause any human casualties but burned down 2 cars and 490 square meters of factory.

The row of factories that burned down were temporary factories with corrugated iron roofs on the Nhue River dike corridor. Notably, many of the factories were up to 2 stories high.

Fire Police and Rescue Force prevented the fire from spreading to about 700 - 800m2 of neighboring buildings.

Nam Tu Liem District Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
