These are all key industrial products of Lao Cai. Currently, the demand for buying yellow phosphorus in the world market is improving, the selling price of yellow phosphorus products is stable, and there is not much inventory...

Along with that, in the first 6 months of the year, Lao Cai province had 2 more hydropower plants, Mong Sen (6MW), Bao Nhai (14MW), put into operation and officially generating electricity to the national grid and 1 Nam Luc hydropower project completed to increase capacity (from 20MW to 24MW), bringing the total number of completed projects generating electricity in Lao Cai province to 74 projects (total installed capacity of 1,162.85MW). In general, the completed hydropower plants have all operated stably and safely. In particular, dam owners have focused on strictly implementing the contents of the reservoir operation process and dam protection plan. Hydropower projects under construction have focused on capital, human resources, and equipment to implement the project according to the schedule specified in the investment policy.

Some current difficulties in industrial production activities in Lao Cai such as problems with mineral exploitation and processing projects, most units are facing difficulties in compensation and site clearance, legal procedures on land have significantly affected production and business activities. The planning of new establishment or expansion of industrial zones to create clean land to attract industrial projects is still slow...

According to Mr. Hoang Van Thuan, in the industrial sector, in the last months of 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province will focus on a number of key tasks such as: Advising on the implementation of the task of urging the establishment of industrial clusters, developing an industrial promotion plan for 2025. Strengthening the implementation of solutions to remove difficulties for mineral exploitation and processing projects and hydropower projects in the area. In particular, the steel factory project of the Vietnam-China Minerals and Metallurgy Company Limited will resume operations as soon as possible.

Develop plans and conduct inspections of compliance with the provisions of the Electricity Law on electricity operation licenses for units operating in the fields of power generation, design consultancy and supervision consultancy in the area. Inspect and urge units to use energy economically and efficiently in implementing the 2024 plan.

Along with that, we will inspect the industrial production situation at Tang Loong Industrial Park. Organize technical safety and environmental protection inspections at some chemical operating units in the area.

In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province will also review, focus on researching and advising on the promulgation of the Regulation on coordination in mineral planning management for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (between the Ministry of Industry and Trade with Lao Cai province and Yen Bai and Ha Giang provinces).
