Do not break the petroleum supply chain

On the days before Tet, at the Luong market petrol station belonging to Do Luong General Trading Joint Stock Company (Trang Son commune, Do Luong), I noticed that the number of motor vehicles coming in and out to fill up with petrol was quite busy. The owner of this petrol station said: During Tet, people's demand for petrol doubled, the station consumed about 5,000 liters per day. To proactively source goods at the end of the year, the station's tank always has tens of thousands of liters of petrol, and the staff is ready to serve sales throughout Tet.

Mr. Nguyen Tat Vinh - Do Luong General Trading Joint Stock Company (a trader specializing in supplying gasoline) said: In order to serve the needs of people and businesses during the 2024 Lunar New Year, our unit has reserved about 4,200 ^m3 of gasoline in the warehouse. Always ensuring enough gasoline to supply 13 gas stations of the unit in the districts of Do Luong, Tan Ky, Yen Thanh and 10 other agents.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoi, Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Do Luong District, added: Do Luong District currently has 30 gas stations in operation. The district regularly coordinates with the Economic Infrastructure Department to daily inspect and supervise individual gas stations to ensure supply to the people. In case a store temporarily suspends operations, there must be a legitimate reason, a written report to the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade stating the reason for the suspension of sales, and sales can only be suspended with written approval from the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade.

At this time, in the coastal area of Quynh Luu district, the buying and selling of gasoline and oil is also taking place stably. The owner of a gasoline store in Tien Thuy, Quynh Luu district said: On the occasion of Tet, the store still meets the fuel demand for ships going out to sea, selling an average of 800-900 liters/day, the tank currently has 10,000 liters of oil left, when the oil is about to run out, the supplier will promptly deliver it.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien - a boat owner in Tien Thuy commune shared: Every time the boat returns to shore, it has to "refill" 4,000 - 5,000 liters of oil to go out to sea, the coastal gas stations in Tien Thuy commune all have enough to ensure our boats can go out to sea to fish.

A representative of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Quynh Luu district said that there are currently 103 gas stations in the area, of which more than 40 are in coastal communes. The district coordinates with Market Management Team No. 4 to regularly inspect retail gas stations in coastal areas, to prevent disruptions in the supply of gasoline and oil, ensuring that more than 1,200 fishing boats can go out to sea before, during and after the Lunar New Year.

Stabilize gasoline supply from now until the end of the year

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: Up to this point, Nghe An has more than 600 gas stations operating normally, the demand for gas and oil during Tet will increase by about 15-20%. Currently, gas and oil distributors in Nghe An have developed plans to serve Tet and for 2024.

According to the plan, the total supply of gasoline and oil before, during and after the Lunar New Year is fully met. Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2024, gasoline and oil traders plan to reserve about 140,000 ^m3 , of which key traders include Nghe An Petroleum Company about 95,500 ^m3 , Petrolimex Nghe Tinh Transportation and Service Joint Stock Company about 25,000 ^m3 and other distributors...

Most recently, the Department of Industry and Trade of Nghe An has issued Official Dispatch No. 1953/SCT-QLTM, directing to ensure supply and stabilize the gasoline and oil market in the province. Accordingly, the Market Management Department, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns: Continue to coordinate with functional forces to strengthen inspection and supervision of gasoline and oil sales at gasoline retail stores in the area to promptly detect acts of speculation, hoarding, and limit the amount of gasoline and oil sold.

Check the implementation of store opening and closing times according to the registered sales time with the state management agency and the suspension of sales without written approval from the Department of Industry and Trade, and resolutely handle violations.

The authorities shall organize the reception of information through the hotline to promptly inspect, detect and strictly handle violations, including applying additional penalties such as revoking the right to use the Certificate of qualified petrol retail stores according to regulations. At the same time, closely monitor petrol stores that have had their Certificates revoked.

Key traders and petroleum distributors must proactively develop plans to reserve petroleum, share supply sources, adjust reasonable discounts in the distribution system for agents and petroleum retail stores, and commit to ensuring adequate petroleum supply in the area during the end of the year and the 2024 Lunar New Year. Maintain sales activities at petroleum retail stores in the enterprise's distribution system. Traders must not hoard goods, must sell goods at the listed price, and open stores at the prescribed time.

In case your retail petrol station temporarily suspends operations or closes, you must have a legitimate reason and notify the Department of Industry and Trade in writing. The reason for the suspension of sales must be clearly stated and sales may only be suspended after the Department of Industry and Trade approves in writing as prescribed. Violations will be strictly handled according to the law.
