Pickleball is a new sport in Vietnam, but it quickly won the hearts of the audience. New players can easily approach pickleball because of its simple rules and equipment, along with a court that is both strange and familiar.
That is because pickleball has similarities with badminton and tennis. If anyone has ever played at least one of the two sports mentioned above, getting acquainted with pickleball is probably not difficult.

Standard pickleball court size
Pickleball court seen from above is rectangular in shape. The international standard pickleball court size is 6.1 m wide and 13.41 m long. The total area of the pickleball court is 81.74 m2, only a quarter of the area of a tennis court, exactly as wide as a badminton court.
The pickleball court is divided into two equal halves, separated by a net. Each halve includes two Service Areas and one Kitchen/Non Volley Zone.

The Kitchen area is measured from the net to the front line on each side of the court, approximately 2.13 m in length. Players are not allowed to serve into this area.
Each court has two service boxes. Each box is 4.57 m long and 3.05 m wide. The service boxes and the kitchen area are usually painted in contrasting colors to make it easier for players to distinguish. This is the biggest difference between pickleball and tennis/badminton.
What material is the pickleball court made of?
Pickleball courts are usually built on one of three surfaces: concrete, plastic flooring or compacted soil. The surface of a pickleball court must be flat and non-slip to ensure safety during play.
The pickleball court lines are drawn with paint or rubber glue. The lines are usually white and 5.08 cm wide. The pickleball court lines must be clear so that players can determine where to aim or hit the ball.
Some pickleball courts even draw basketball lines, catering to those who want to play other sports besides pickleball.

The net of a pickleball court is basically made of the same material as a tennis court. The two posts of a pickleball net are also the same size as a tennis court, placed outside the court.
International standard pickleball courts are used for both singles and doubles play.
