On the eve of the workshop 'Green products and services - Orders from users', within the framework of the Green Vietnam 2025 project, a series of recycled, environmentally friendly products on display attracted special attention from attendees.

The workshop took place on March 27 in Ho Chi Minh City, organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in collaboration with the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam), the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and accompanying units.

Before the opening, the exhibition area on the sidelines of the conference became a highlight displaying many green products from leading consumer brands such as Faslink, Duy Tan Plastic, Suntory Pepsico ... attracting a large number of visitors.

At Faslink's experience space, visitors were surprised by clothing products made from recycled fibers from coffee grounds, oyster shells and scrap plastic.

Clothing products, bags made from coffee grounds, and plastic bottles attract visitors. Faslink representative said that Faslink's recycling process includes three steps: sorting (removing buttons and zippers to optimize recycling), processing (shredding, collecting and weighing), finishing and sending to the recycling plant, regenerating a new life cycle.

Faslink representative said that from August 2024 to December 2024, the company collected and recycled 557kg of used clothes. Continuing the program, from February 2025 to April 2025, an additional 1 ton of used clothes was collected to prepare for recycling.

Holding the soft, airy shirt in her hand, Ms. Le Thi Linh (living in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) was surprised to learn that this shirt was made from waste such as scraps of fabric, coffee grounds, and plastic bottles. Not only is it environmentally friendly, the product also has antibacterial and deodorizing properties.

"I never expected that seemingly discarded waste products could be made into useful products for everyday life," Ms. Linh shared.

PRO Vietnam also brought to the conference recycled products such as roofing sheets, floor mats, paper pulp, many household products... Meanwhile, Duy Tan Recycling Plastic Joint Stock Company (DUYTAN Recycling) introduced a series of products made from recycled plastic such as water bottles, bags.

Many businesses in the consumer and retail industry such as TH True Milk, Satra, Alta, Vinasoy, also brought to the workshop environmentally friendly, easily recyclable, and biodegradable packaging solutions.

In the agricultural sector, Organica, TTC AgriS, Thien Nong farm... introduce products cultivated according to sustainable standards, limiting negative impacts on the ecosystem.

Nguyen Manh Hung, an employee of a fashion company, said he attended the conference with the desire to update new green consumption trends. He was surprised by the professionalism and uniformity of the decorated booths at the event.

"At first, I thought the workshop would mainly focus on providing information, but unexpectedly, there were many activities to experience real green products and services. The experience spaces also span many fields, from cuisine such as using environmentally friendly straws to fashion and sustainable textile materials," he said.

What impressed him most was the booth introducing coffee fabric and fashion products made from recycled materials by Faslink. "Not only are the clothes produced in a sustainable way, but they are green right from the beginning, from the fabric used to make the clothes. I also did not think that the fabric could be recycled into display items such as boxes and bags that look very trendy," he commented.

In addition to displaying products, the conference also organized many interactive activities to raise awareness of environmental protection. Mr. Nguyen Tan Loc - founder of Loc Nhan Coffee Recycling Company - said that visitors to the company's experience space only need to record a short video with the saying "Recycling is not difficult, as long as you are willing to work hard" and send it back, and will receive gifts including coffee grounds tablets, deodorant tablets and environmentally friendly souvenirs.

According to the organizers, the green product exhibition space at the conference not only reflects the efforts of businesses to reduce emissions but is also an opportunity for units to identify new consumption trends. The transition to a sustainable production model is becoming an urgent requirement, helping businesses not only meet the expectations of the domestic market but also improve their competitiveness in the international market.

In the context of climate change and resource depletion posing many challenges, green consumption is no longer an option, but an inevitable trend to protect the planet and promote sustainable economic growth.

Green Vietnam 2025: Promoting green consumption

The workshop "Green products and services - Orders from users" is an important event following the launching ceremony of the Green Vietnam 2025 project on March 1. With the theme "Promoting green consumption", the workshop not only analyzes changes in consumer awareness and behavior but also clarifies the role of consumers in shaping sustainable production trends.

The event brought together environmental experts, economists, manufacturing enterprises, distributors, retailers, policy makers and consumers interested in green living. The conference focused on three main areas: updating global and Vietnamese green consumption trends, sharing practical experiences from pioneering enterprises and proposing practical solutions to support enterprises in transforming production towards sustainability.

Not stopping at the workshop, Green Vietnam 2025 will continue to implement a series of activities throughout the year such as seminars, green product exhibitions and communication campaigns to raise public awareness about sustainable consumption.
