Two cannons placed outside the Thai Hoa Palace will be fired to welcome the new year.
This is an activity to celebrate the New Year 2025 and the National Tourism Year hosted by Hue.
The Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that after the Thai Hoa Palace completes major renovations in 2024, the center is expected to regularly reenact this ceremony on special occasions throughout the year to serve visitors.
The National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 will be organized with continuous activities throughout the year, following a 4-season orientation, focusing on 4 program groups with over 150 national and provincial events, including over 70 main events.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and central agencies organized 8 programs and events; Hue City hosted 63 programs and events.

Summer Festival - "Shining Imperial City": held from April to June with highlights being the Ao Dai art program and the Community Ao Dai Week.
Autumn Festival - "Hue in Autumn": held from July to September, with the highlight being the Mid-Autumn Festival program, including activities: Hue International Lantern Festival 2025; Lion - Unicorn - Dragon Festival, Hue Lion Dance Performance and Mid-Autumn Street Lantern Procession Festival.
Winter Festival - "Winter of Hue": held from October to December, including new programs to create a more vibrant and warmer winter atmosphere in Hue, while also creating forms of entertainment for visitors to enjoy during their stay in the ancient capital of Hue. Highlights include the closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year and the International Music Festival; the Countdown art program - Welcoming the New Year 2026.
