In particular, when the afternoon trading session opened, many securities companies suddenly lost connection with the HOSE floor, so investors' trading orders could not be displayed. Some securities companies informed investors about this order congestion, but there were also companies that only informed through brokers.
HOSE floor was jammed with orders again on March 6, making it impossible for investors to trade.
The order congestion lasted for nearly an hour and was gradually resolved. After 2 p.m., the connection was restored at most securities companies. However, as of 4 p.m. the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange still had no information about this incident.
At the end of the trading session, VN-Index decreased by 7.25 points to 1,262.73 points and HNX-Index decreased by 1.9 points to 235.45 points. Market liquidity reached more than 1 billion USD with over 27,864 billion VND traded.
Previously, at the end of 2020, order congestion occurred at HOSE. The trading system at that time often froze and was congested due to the infrastructure not being able to handle millions of orders per day, affecting investor sentiment. At many times, investors did not understand the supply and demand relationship or could not buy or sell securities, affecting market liquidity. HOSE's liquidity at that time was about 15,000 - 16,000 billion VND/session. Currently, HOSE and securities companies are rehearsing to conduct transactions on the new information technology system KRX in March and are expected to start using the new system in early May.
