Attractive playground for young entrepreneurs

(NLDO) – 22 young startup teams in the student and startup categories will have the opportunity to receive prizes and non-refundable investment packages, with a total value of up to 21,600 USD.

Future Founders Fest 2024, organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Youth Co:Lab Vietnam (co-created by the United Nations Development Program - UNDP and Citi Foundation), took place on December 4 and 5.

The festival is a large playground, gathering creative young entrepreneurs, incubators, investment funds and universities across the country. This is also an opportunity to honor social initiatives led by young people, and at the same time launch a study on the youth startup ecosystem.

Associate Professor Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, said that the school always encourages and creates conditions for students to freely create and apply technology in learning and starting a business, especially aiming at sustainable development values.

As of November 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and the Institute of Innovation have implemented startup support activities and incubated more than 150 projects with a successful investment call of more than 600,000 USD.

"The festival emphasizes the important role of youth startups in promoting sustainable development in Vietnam. This is also a link connecting Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics with young entrepreneurs at home and abroad, building relationships with many countries" - Associate Professor Hung commented.

Within the framework of the festival, there are two important programs: Summary of the UII x BASIC 2024 program and announcement of national research on the youth startup ecosystem in Vietnam.

Of which, 22 young startup teams in 2 student and startup categories will have the opportunity to receive prizes and non-refundable investment packages with a total value of up to 21,600 USD from the UII x BASIC 2024 program.
