Da Nang International Airport pioneers in applying smart terminal model

In the context of technology dramatically changing the way people move and connect, Da Nang International Airport continues to affirm its pioneering role by applying modern technological solutions to operations and passenger services.

2024 marks an important step forward when AHT cooperates with FPT Software to deploy a smart airport model at Terminal T2, enhancing the experience for international visitors. Notably, AHT has recently sponsored and handed over to the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) 4 automatic immigration control gates (auto gates) and put them into operation from March 20, the remaining 4 gates will continue to be sponsored and completed in the coming time.

With this milestone, Da Nang International Airport becomes the first terminal in Vietnam to complete a fully automated check-in process from check-in to boarding.

This is an important milestone in enhancing the passenger experience, affirming the airport's commitment to applying advanced technology to optimize airport operations and provide maximum convenience.

Advanced technology enhances passenger experience

The application of technology brings a more convenient process for passengers. At Da Nang International Airport, passengers can easily complete procedures with the Self Check-in Kiosk system and then quickly check in their luggage at the Self Bag-drop counter.

Security checks and immigration are also significantly shortened thanks to the Autogate system, saving waiting time. Finally, passengers can board the plane seamlessly through the Auto Boarding Gate, minimizing manual operations and optimizing travel time.

Not stopping there, the airport is also equipped with a video call kiosk system and multilingual information lookup screens, helping passengers easily find information about flights, services and amenities. This is an important connection channel for the airport to receive feedback from customers, continuously improving service quality.

In addition, AI camera systems are deployed at check-in areas to measure passenger density in real time, providing online data to operations to quickly deploy regulatory measures, reduce congestion and optimize check-in time.

Terminal T2 Expansion - Towards the Future

With strong strides in improving service quality, Terminal T2 of Da Nang International Airport has been honored to receive Skytrax's 5-star standard certification in 2024 and 2025, affirming its leading position in the region and in Vietnam.

Responding to the General Secretary's call and in line with the nation's "Era of Rising", Da Nang is gradually affirming its position as a leading destination, attracting more and more international visitors with a stable growth rate. In order to meet the increasing demand of passengers, AHT is completing procedures to expand Terminal T2, expected to start construction on September 2, 2025, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
