Lien Khuong Airport - Lam Dong officially becomes an international airport from June 22, 2024
Lien Khuong Airport is permitted to serve international and domestic flights, regular and irregular, private aircraft, military aircraft and other types of aircraft.

The Minister of Transport has just signed Decision No. 758/QD – BGTVT on the announcement of converting Lien Khuong Airport into Lien Khuong International Airport.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Transport announced the conversion of Lien Khuong Airport into Lien Khuong International Airport and will receive international flights from 07:01 on June 22, 2024.
Lien Khuong International Airport has coordinate system (WGS-84), latitude: 11°45'12.09''N, longitude: 108°22'04.81''E; runway 09/27, size 3250m x 45m (length x width); asphalt concrete structure, load capacity PCN = 47/F/C/X/T; meets the operation requirements: Aircraft types Code D such as B757, A300 and equivalent or lower with ACNmax/ACRmax index smaller than PCN/PCR index of the announced runway.
This is a type of airport serving regular and irregular international and domestic flights, private aircraft, military aircraft and other types of aircraft when licensed for operation by competent authorities.
Lien Khuong International Airport has a 4D airport level according to regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Previously, the Ministry of Transport also approved the planning of Lien Khuong Airport for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
Accordingly, the position and function of Lien Khuong Airport in the national airport network is an international airport; its nature of use is an airport for shared civil and military use.
During the period 2021-2030, Lien Khuong Airport will be a level 4E airport (according to the standard code of the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO) and a level II military airport; capacity of 5 million passengers/year and 20,000 tons of cargo/year. The type of aircraft operating at Lien Khuong Airport is code C such as A320/A321, code E such as B747/B787/A350 and equivalent; landing approach is CAT II with head 09 and simple head 27.
Vision to 2050, Lien Khuong Airport is planned to be a level 4E airport and a level II military airport; capacity of 7 million passengers/year and 30,000 tons of cargo/year. The type of aircraft operated is code C such as A320/A321, code E such as B747/B787/A350 and equivalent; landing approach: CAT II with head 09 and simple with head 27.
Regarding the runway system, in the period 2021-2030, Lien Khuong Airport is planned to maintain the existing runway configuration with dimensions of 3,250 m x 45 m, and a 7.5 m wide material shoulder.
Vision to 2050 will extend the existing runway to the West (beginning of 09) by 350 m to 3,600 m x 45 m, with material margins according to regulations.
Regarding the aircraft parking lot, in the period 2021-2030, Lien Khuong Airport will expand the aircraft parking lot to accommodate 21 parking positions and have reserves for expansion when needed. The vision to 2050 will continue to expand the aircraft parking lot to accommodate 27 parking positions and have reserves for expansion when needed.
Regarding the passenger terminal, in the period 2021-2030, Lien Khuong Airport will maintain the T1 passenger terminal with a capacity of 2 million passengers/year, and plan a new T2 passenger terminal with a capacity of about 3 million passengers/year. The vision to 2050 is to expand the T2 passenger terminal so that the total capacity of the entire port will reach about 7 million passengers/year; reserve land for development when needed.
Regarding the cargo terminal, in the period 2021-2030, Lien Khuong Airport is planning a cargo terminal and parking lot on the land east of the civil aviation area, with an area of about 23,300 m2, meeting the capacity of about 20,000 tons of cargo/year.
