Samsung pledges to invest nearly 2 billion USD more in Bac Ninh

(Dan Tri) - In addition to the 6.5 billion USD investment already made in Yen Phong Industrial Park, Samsung Group has committed to expanding its investment with a total registered capital of 1.8 billion USD this year.
This commitment was announced at the Conference to announce the Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, and promote investment in Bac Ninh province in 2024 on the afternoon of September 22. Attending this Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh witnessed Bac Ninh province awarding investment registration certificates, investment policy decisions, and memorandums of understanding with projects and partners. Of which, the most notable is that Samsung Group committed to expanding its investment with a total registered capital of 1.8 billion USD this year, in addition to the 6.5 billion USD investment already invested in Yen Phong Industrial Park.

The Joint Stock Company for Investment of the Trade Union of the Industrial and Commercial Bank received the decision approving the investment policy to build an ecological urban area in Thuan Thanh town with a total investment capital of 27,000 billion VND, equivalent to 1.06 billion USD. Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. also decided to expand, increasing the investment capital by nearly 1.1 billion USD for the project of a factory for manufacturing, assembling and testing semiconductor materials and equipment... In the first 9 months of the year, Bac Ninh province ranked first in the country in terms of foreign investment attraction with 4.3 billion USD; the scale of investment attraction to date has reached over 35 billion USD. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed businesses and investors who chose Bac Ninh province to invest. He asked investors to promote the spirit of "working together, winning together, enjoying together and developing together"; building a long-term and sustainable business strategy. The Prime Minister also affirmed the consistent policy of the Vietnamese Party and State is not to criminalize civil and economic relations, but to resolutely handle violations of the law.

Speaking at the Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the province's groundbreaking of the Golden Canal Bridge project to contribute to regional connectivity in accordance with the new spirit of the Central Government: "locality decides, locality acts, locality takes responsibility", and at the same time, starting a new social housing project to contribute to taking care of housing for people - an important factor to attract labor resources, attract investment, and develop quickly and sustainably. Spending time analyzing planning work, the Prime Minister emphasized that planning plays a very important role, creating great opportunities, long-term impacts, and is an important driving force in development. Planning must be one step ahead, close to reality, feasible, promoting the potential differences, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages of each region, area, and locality, according to the Government leader. According to the planning, by 2030, Bac Ninh will become a centrally-run city, a dynamic economic and cultural center of the northern region.

To realize the plan, the Prime Minister emphasized that Bac Ninh province needs to focus on mobilizing and effectively using all reasonable resources to promote traditional growth drivers and focus on new growth drivers. Along with that, increase investment, develop human factors; strengthen regional, regional, domestic and international connectivity through connecting transport systems, production and supply systems according to chains, and connecting markets. Regarding key tasks and solutions, the Prime Minister requested to focus investment resources on industry and services, focusing on developing potential industries, transforming and attracting investment in new industries. In addition, the Prime Minister requested the province to promote the development of strategic infrastructure investment, especially transport infrastructure and urban infrastructure; Developing key industries, high-tech industries... Emphasizing that Bac Ninh is one of the important trading centers of the Red River Delta, the Prime Minister wants the locality to strive to "go behind and come first" in implementing the construction of the 4th Ring Road project of the Hanoi Capital Region; prepare well for projects to welcome large, potential investors, modern technology...

Also at the Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates pressed the button to start the construction of the Kenh Vang Bridge project and the social housing project in the Que Vo new urban area. The Kenh Vang Bridge project is 740m long with a total investment of nearly VND 2,200 billion, and is considered a symbol of development and connection between the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong. The social housing project in the Que Vo new urban area has an investment scale of more than VND 1,300 billion, expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2025.
