Sam Son tightens management of 4-wheel electric vehicles serving tourism

Sam Son City currently has 474 4-wheel electric vehicles managed by 5 businesses, allowed to operate 24/7 and stop to pick up and drop off passengers for no more than 3 minutes per trip.

Permitted routes include main routes in the inner city, especially coastal areas, ensuring good service for tourists' travel and sightseeing needs.

The City People's Committee requires that electric vehicles must meet technical standards, have fare meters installed by competent authorities, be equipped with journey monitoring devices, and have full fares, regulations, and hotlines posted on the vehicle.

Drivers must have a B2 license or higher, clear background, have participated in training and wear uniforms according to each company's regulations.

The plan also strictly regulates prohibited behaviors such as: soliciting, forcing prices, playing loud music, driving on the wrong route, speeding, taking passengers in circles to charge high fees, or receiving commissions from service establishments.

The City People's Committee assigned specialized departments and offices to coordinate with electric car companies to organize the signing of commitments to comply with regulations, and at the same time, disseminate information to residents and tourists.

From July 1, 2025, the operation of 4-wheel electric vehicles will comply with the new regulations of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and Decree 158/2024/ND-CP of the Government. The plan contributes to standardizing electric vehicle transportation activities in Sam Son City, bringing safety, civilization and satisfaction to tourists, while building a friendly and professional tourism image for the coastal city.
