On the afternoon of October 27, at Dong Khoi Hotel (Grand Hotel Saigon), a comprehensive cooperation signing ceremony for the period 2023 - 2028 took place between Saigon Tourist Group and Saigon University.
This event marks an important milestone in the cooperation between the two units in many fields, especially in training and developing high-quality human resources in the tourism industry.
Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, representatives of the city's departments and branches, and representatives of the two units.

Mr. Vo Anh Tai, Deputy General Director of Saigontourist Group, said that recently, the labor structure in economic sectors in general and the tourism industry in particular has been changing dramatically. In particular, the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the tourism industry, raising urgent issues in the supply of tourism human resources, especially specialized and highly skilled labor.
"The cooperation program will actively contribute to the development cooperation efforts of the two units, especially important in the current recovery and development period of the tourism industry in particular as well as the recovery and socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City in general," Mr. Vo Anh Tai shared.
According to the comprehensive cooperation agreement, Saigontourist Group will support and accompany Saigon University to implement contents to concretize contributions to the development of the tourism industry in the fields of training, research, internship, consulting, sharing practical experiences, job opportunities and using services and products of both parties.
Mr. Pham Huy Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigontourist Group and Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Hoang Quan, Rector of Saigon University signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement witnessed by the attending delegates.
Immediately after the signing ceremony, Saigontourist School of Tourism and Hospitality and Saigon University signed a joint plan to coordinate the organization of practical courses for 520 students of Saigon University in the 2023-2024 academic year to study bachelor's programs in the following majors: Restaurant and Food Service Management, Hotel Management of the Faculty of Business Administration and bachelor's programs of the Faculty of Culture and Tourism.
Saigontourist Group was established on August 1, 1975, currently managing more than 100 hotels, resorts, restaurants, travel agencies, entertainment areas, tourism training schools, conference and exhibition areas, golf courses, cable television... In the field of training, Saigontourist School of Tourism and Hospitality, over 34 years of establishment and development, has trained and provided high-quality human resources for the tourism industry in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
Saigon University provides multi-disciplinary and multi-field training; undergraduate and postgraduate training. Currently, the school is providing doctoral, master's, and full-time undergraduate training, and linking from intermediate and college to university; training and granting certificates for 7 programs for teachers; training and organizing English assessment tests according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam, Linguaskill of the Cambridge University English Language Assessment Council.
