Saigon Commercial and Industrial Bank (Saigonbank - UPCoM: SGB) has just announced a personnel change regarding the Chief Accountant position, who also serves as Head of the Accounting and Finance Department.
Accordingly, the bank has decided to appoint Mr. Pham Tan Tai as Chief Accountant and concurrently Head of the Accounting and Finance Department, effective September 1, 2024. Mr. Tai was born in 1983 and previously held the position of Deputy Head of the Accounting and Finance Department.
Mr. Tai will replace Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nam, who has been relieved of his duties as Chief Accountant and Head of the Accounting and Finance Department by the bank's Board of Directors, and appointed as Deputy General Director effective September 1, 2024.
The term of appointment is one year. According to Saigonbank's management report for the first six months of 2024, Mr. Nam was born on December 24, 1968, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics . He was appointed Chief Accountant of Saigonbank from February 1, 2023.

According to information on the website, following the appointment of Mr. Nam as Deputy General Director, the executive board of SaigonBank now has 5 members, with Mr. Tran Thanh Giang as General Director.
Ms. Vo Thi Nguyet Minh is the Permanent Deputy General Director, and the other three Deputy General Directors are Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh, Mr. Pham Hoang Hong Thinh, and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nam.
In February of this year, Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat, the Deputy General Director at Saigonbank, resigned from his position at his own request.
Regarding business performance, at the end of the second quarter of 2024, Saigonbank recorded its main source of revenue, net interest income, at nearly VND 225 billion, a decrease of 7% compared to the same period last year.
Thanks to a 2.45-fold reduction in credit risk provisions compared to the same period last year, down to nearly VND 22 billion, the bank reported a 24% year-on-year increase in pre-tax profit to VND 98 billion; after-tax profit increased correspondingly by 45.8% to nearly VND 70 billion.
For the first six months of 2024, the bank recorded net interest income of VND 409 billion, a decrease of 11.85%. The bank earned a net profit before tax of VND 166 billion; the corresponding after-tax profit reached VND 133 billion, a decrease of 9.55 compared to the first six months of 2023.
