(Dan Tri) - Western observers have pointed out Russia's mistakes over the past months when they suffered losses in the war with Ukraine.

For the eighth time in the past nine months, Russian soldiers have been attacked by Ukrainian forces while training in Moscow-controlled territories, causing mass casualties, Forbes reported.
What these incidents have in common is that Russian commanders often conduct training outside and at daylight in locations too close to the front line. These are the right conditions for Ukraine to use a combination of reconnaissance UAVs and firepower to attack and cause damage to its opponents.
For example, most recently, on November 21, dozens of Russian servicemen gathered outdoors on the Zaporizhia front. Ukrainian UAVs observed the incident, and Kiev decided to fire M30/31 shells from the US-supplied HIMARS system, from a distance of 90km.
The shell landed just meters away from Russian soldiers, scattering metal fragments, causing heavy human casualties for Russia.
However, according to Forbes , the problem is that Russia continues to concentrate large numbers of troops near the front line after facing a series of similar attacks since February, some in Zaporizhia, some in Donetsk. According to estimates by Western observers, Russia may have lost hundreds of soldiers, including those wounded, in such raids.
One incident in which Russia is believed to have suffered major casualties occurred on February 27. The attack occurred as their 155th Marine Brigade gathered outdoors in broad daylight for a parade, according to Forbes . The event took place in Olenivka, about 13km east of the front line in eastern Ukraine.
After a Ukrainian reconnaissance UAV detected the gathering, two M30/31 GPS-guided projectiles were dropped, each releasing 182,000 tungsten balls onto the parade area.
The attack reportedly killed 19 Russian servicemen, including a colonel and two other officers, according to Forbes. The brigade commander, Colonel Mikhail Gudkov, was among the wounded.
Previously, on February 20 and 21, the Ukrainian army also identified and shelled two Russian force gathering points at the front line within the range of HIMARS.
