Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Joint Stock Company ( Sabeco , stock code SAB) has just announced documents for the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders to be held on April 24 in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2024, Sabeco recorded revenue of VND 31,872 billion, an increase of 4.6% over the same period, and profit after tax of VND 4,495 billion, an increase of 5.6% compared to the implementation in 2023.
In 2025, Sabeco said that it is well aware of the opportunities and challenges ahead, so the Board of Directors of Sabeco set a target of sustainable growth to create momentum for Sabeco's long-term development process. The company submitted to the congress a business plan with a revenue target (including Special Consumption Tax) after deducting deductions in 2025 of VND 44,819 billion (up 9% compared to 2024), the target net revenue decreased by 1% compared to 2024, reaching VND 31,641 billion. The target profit after tax reached VND 4,835 billion, up 8% compared to 2024.
According to Sabeco, consumers are increasingly concerned about their health and are choosing low-alcohol or non-alcoholic beers. In addition, competition continues to be fierce between domestic and foreign beer companies to gain a higher market share.
Alcoholic beverages in Vietnam are subject to three types of taxes: import tax (from 05-80% depending on the type of FTA), value added tax (10%) and special consumption tax (increased sharply from 50% to 65% in 2018). However, Sabeco assesses that the Vietnamese beer market is still considered to have potential and contains many opportunities.
The year 2025 continues to mark "golden" opportunities for the Vietnamese beer industry. Firstly, the golden population structure, rapidly increasing income. Secondly, the great potential of the "non-alcoholic beer" segment. Thirdly, the potential for export markets. The market is witnessing a shift of consumers from popular beer to premium and craft segments. Craft beer is emerging as a niche market with impressive growth rates, especially in big cities. In addition, the Vietnamese tourism industry is gradually recovering, attracting international visitors back, which will contribute to promoting beer consumption at tourist destinations, bringing opportunities for the beer industry.
Regarding the profit distribution plan, based on the 2024 business results, Sabeco said it would submit a plan to pay dividends to shareholders at a rate of 50%/par value, increasing the dividend payment by 15% compared to the previous year's payment of 35%. This proposal will be submitted for approval at the 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. Sabeco has provisionally paid a dividend of 20%, the remaining 30% is expected to be paid in cash with the record date for shareholders receiving dividends on July 1, 2025 and payment on July 31, 2025. The dividend level proposed for 2025 is also at 50%.
