This year's week is held to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the Traditional Day - the founding day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024) and the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23). This is an opportunity to promote cultural identity and the spirit of great national unity that has been forged over thousands of years of building and defending the country.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Thanh Long, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Mai Van Chinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with representatives of central and local ministries, departments and branches, and many artisans and actors of 14 local troupes participating in the 7th Then singing - Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups in 2024.

In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy shared that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid special attention to the work of national solidarity. His thoughts are also the thoughts and viewpoints of our Party on national solidarity, building and developing Vietnamese culture and people. Organizing the Week of "National Great Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" is a meaningful activity to consolidate and strengthen the strength of national solidarity, honor, preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized: “Cultural awareness is becoming more comprehensive and profound; cultural products are increasingly diverse and rich, meeting new and multifaceted demands of society. Many traditional cultural values ​​and cultural heritages of the nation are inherited, preserved and promoted. To date, Vietnam has thousands of national cultural heritages, 134 special national relics, 8 tangible cultural heritages and 15 intangible cultural heritages of special value recognized by UNESCO and listed as world heritages."

One of the highlights of the Week is the Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups. This activity aims to honor and preserve the art of “Then practice” - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO in 2019.
