Brilliant cultural colors at the opening night of the "Great Unity of Nations" Week

(Fatherland) - On the evening of November 16, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Son Tay, Hanoi), the 2024 "Great National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week officially opened. The event has profound meaning, honoring the tradition of great national unity and the cultural heritage values ​​of the community of 54 ethnic groups.

This year's week is held to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the Traditional Day - the founding day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024) and the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23). This is an opportunity to promote cultural identity and the spirit of great national unity that has been forged over thousands of years of building and defending the country.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Thanh Long, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Mai Van Chinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with representatives of central and local ministries, departments and branches, and many artisans and actors of 14 local troupes participating in the 7th Then singing - Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups in 2024.

In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy shared that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid special attention to the work of national solidarity. His thoughts are also the thoughts and viewpoints of our Party on national solidarity, building and developing Vietnamese culture and people. Organizing the Week of "National Great Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" is a meaningful activity to consolidate and strengthen the strength of national solidarity, honor, preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized: “Cultural awareness is becoming more comprehensive and profound; cultural products are increasingly diverse and rich, meeting new and multifaceted demands of society. Many traditional cultural values ​​and cultural heritages of the nation are inherited, preserved and promoted. To date, Vietnam has thousands of national cultural heritages, 134 special national relics, 8 tangible cultural heritages and 15 intangible cultural heritages of special value recognized by UNESCO and listed as world heritages."

According to Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, the event is an opportunity for us to continue to honor, introduce and promote the beauty and unique cultural values ​​of Vietnamese ethnic groups.

Delegates presented gifts to ethnic people participating in daily activities at the Village and to delegations attending the Festival.

One of the highlights of the Week is the Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups. This activity aims to honor and preserve the art of “Then practice” - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO in 2019.

Dozens of artisans and art troupes from many localities brought unique performances imbued with traditional cultural values.

The highlight of the Ceremony was the opening art program with the theme Vietnam - the era of rising.

The program includes 4 chapters: Lyrics of the Tinh guitar, The heritage of convergence and shine, Sharing a belief and The era of national growth.

The program has the participation of Meritorious Artists: To Nga, Luong Huy, Tan Nhan, Hoang Tung, PLoong Thiet...; and singers Sen Hoang My Lam, Tien Hung, Kieu Minh, Vuong Long, Minh Duc, Thanh Phong, Ha MyO, Phuong Mai...

In each chapter, folk performances, dances, songs, and melodies imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups associated with heritage vividly depict the working life, mixed with the religious culture of some localities. Thereby, bringing people and tourists to the heritage areas of the nation.

Music expressed the jubilant atmosphere of the festival. Folk songs of the Thai, Mong, Tay, Nung, Dao, Lo Lo, Cao Lan ethnic groups... were performed one after another, along the length of the country.

In particular, the performances are seamlessly connected to demonstrate the spirit of solidarity of the big family of Vietnamese ethnic groups. In which, each ethnic group is honored and shines.

The art forms presented in the program created a colorful picture of Vietnamese ethnic groups.

The conclusion depicts the overall picture as if to express the solidarity among Vietnamese ethnic groups, to create a combined strength in Vietnamese cultural identity.

Delegates participate in the great solidarity dance with people of all ethnic groups.

The program conveyed the message that Vietnam is a country with 54 ethnic groups, each with its own identity but all within the Vietnamese ethnic community. The ethnic groups must love, protect, and help each other; must unite closely like brothers in one family; together build a harmonious, prosperous life, and build a strong country. All aim towards the words that Uncle Ho once advised: Unity, unity, great unity. Success, success, great success.

The week will last until November 24 with many meaningful activities, celebrating Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, creating an unforgettable impression in the hearts of people and tourists.
