To celebrate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2023) and National Day on September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023), numerous activities and events are taking place throughout the country, with vibrant flags, flowers, and banners adorning the streets. Streets in the Ba Dinh district, such as Hoang Dieu, Thanh Nien, and Dien Bien Phu, are all filled with red.

Many meaningful activities in Hanoi
On the morning of September 1st, more than 100 people wearing traditional ao dai dresses cycled through the streets to introduce Hanoi's famous tourist attractions to domestic and international visitors.
At around 6:00 AM, the convoy began to depart from the Thang Long Imperial Citadel (Ba Dinh District).
The parade passed through streets with many tourist attractions in Hanoi such as: Hoang Dieu - Dien Bien Phu - Le Thai To - Hang Khay - Dinh Tien Hoang (Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square)...
The program was organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Thang Long Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and the Vietnamese Village Temple Club.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said that the program aims to promote and introduce Hanoi's tourist destinations, while also providing a new experiential activity to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists to the capital city.
This is the first time Hanoi's tourism industry has organized a parade of traditional Vietnamese dresses (áo dài), and they hope it will become an annual event on September 2nd, creating an elegant and civilized atmosphere with environmentally friendly transportation and attracting tourists to Hanoi.
Also on September 1st, hundreds of people received free double-decker bus tickets in Hanoi. These free double-decker bus tours, part of the Hanoi City tour, will run from September 1st to 4th. This meaningful activity demonstrates the affection of Hanoi City towards the people of the whole country and tourists visiting the capital during the National Day holiday on September 2nd.
At the same time, it is also an activity to promote and advertise tourist destinations, contributing to further building the image of Hanoi as a "Safe - Friendly - High-Quality - Attractive" tourist destination, meeting the requirements of development in the new situation.
In addition, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, continued to distribute bread and drinks to tourists and people visiting the Mausoleum on September 2nd.
This initiative has been implemented since 2018 by the Hanoi Department of Tourism in coordination with the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

In addition to decorating with flags, banners, and posters to celebrate National Day on September 2nd, Ho Chi Minh City is hosting a series of art performances, martial arts demonstrations, and entertainment activities for the public.
Accordingly, the city organized a photo exhibition commemorating the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and the 78th anniversary of the Saigon Uprising to seize power at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park, Nguyen Hue Street, and Dong Khoi Street; and sports performances in the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue Street…
Simultaneously, Ho Chi Minh City will hold fireworks displays at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Duc City) and Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11) from 9 PM to 9:15 PM on September 2nd.
In the Nguyen Thien Thanh street area (Thu Thiem urban area), there will be a hot air balloon launch event on September 2-3. This year's program will feature approximately 20 hot air balloons, with 7 remaining stationary and the rest flying overhead.
On September 1st, the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee (a national-level architectural and artistic heritage site) began welcoming visitors. This is a free admission program and will last until September 2nd. After that, it will be open regularly on the last two weekends of each month.
Also during this year's Independence Day celebrations, the Saigon - Gia Dinh Commando Museum officially opened its doors to visitors. The museum houses seven valuable collections of artifacts related to the commando forces throughout different stages of their revolutionary activities. Particularly unique to the museum are the collection of secret tunnels and the collection of vehicles used by the Saigon - Gia Dinh Commandos.
From August 24th to September 15th, Da Nang city will host numerous cultural, sports, and tourism activities.
Notably, the Da Nang Traditional Boat Race took place on National Day, September 2nd. This is an annual event that is a hallmark of Da Nang City; however, the tournament was temporarily suspended in 2018 and was revived this year.
In addition, there are exhibitions such as "Young Artists of Da Nang"; and a photo exhibition of current events and art to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.
This year, the Danang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 takes place from August 24th to September 2nd. The highlight of the festival is the BRG Open Championship Danang 2023, attracting 144 top professional golfers from Asia, along with many networking and tourism-related activities.
