Bustling series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Binh Thuan Province Liberation Day

This is not only an occasion to pay tribute to the generations who fought and sacrificed for independence and freedom, but also an opportunity for each citizen to look back on the 50-year journey of building, innovating and developing the homeland - from a land that suffered much pain during the war to a bright spot in the region in terms of potential, internal strength and aspirations to rise.

Spread the atmosphere of remembrance

On the afternoon of April 8, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a meeting to review the progress of the implementation of the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the province's Liberation Day. According to the plan, the rally will take place on the evening of April 19, 2025, in the center of Phan Thiet City, with the participation of about 3,000 delegates, including representatives of the Party, State, ministries, central branches, neighboring provinces, historical witnesses and a large number of people. The ceremony program is designed to be solemn and concise, including three parts: the main ceremony, a special art program and a brilliant high-altitude fireworks display. The space of the stands and stage has been rearranged to be more suitable in terms of landscape, combined with the installation of two large LED screens for people to watch.

Not only stopping at the rally, this year, Binh Thuan organized a series of rich and diverse activities, spread across many fields - from sports , arts to community cultural activities - to spread the atmosphere of celebration widely among the people. From April 8, the Tiger Cup 2025 football tournament kicked off with the participation of strong football teams in the province. The first hot air balloon festival held in Phan Thiet from April 18 to 20 promises to be a unique cultural and tourism highlight. In the Bau Trang - Bac Binh area, where the majestic natural beauty converges, the triathlon of swimming - running - sand dune sliding took place on April 12, creating a close-knit, experiential and connecting sports space. Along with that is the open bicycle race (April 19), traditional boat race on Ca Ty river (April 30) - traditional sports activities that people always look forward to during big holidays.

In particular, the songwriting contest about Binh Thuan has attracted many musicians inside and outside the province, with hundreds of entries. New compositions, with a modern sound but still imbued with the homeland, will be performed on the evening of April 18, as a musical tribute to the land that has suffered many losses and is now transforming strongly. In addition, the Festival of bands, dance groups and street art performances, performances for the grassroots, especially in remote areas, mountainous areas, islands, etc. will also bring the festive atmosphere to all people and all regions in the province.

More notably, from April 17, at the Provincial Theater and Cultural and Art Exhibition, a photo exhibition with the theme “Binh Thuan – 50 years of construction, innovation and development” will open, combining the display of typical commercial and tourism products of the province. This is not only a welcoming activity, but also a cultural and experiential destination for tourists, residents, students and the younger generation to learn about the history of formation, development process and future directions of the locality. The exhibition will last until the end of 2025, becoming a cultural meeting place, connecting the community throughout the anniversary year.

Binh Thuan confidently steps into the future

50 years ago, after April 19, 1975, Binh Thuan was completely liberated, contributing to the whole country's completion of the national unification cause. From a poor land, the province has gradually risen, affirming its important position in the region and the whole country. Today, Binh Thuan is changing strongly. New highways are opened, urban, industrial, service and tourism areas are developing dynamically, and the cultural and social system is receiving synchronous investment. Projects such as the Provincial Theater and Cultural and Art Exhibition - where many major events of the holiday will take place - are evidence of the vision of sustainable, modern development, and harmony between culture and urban areas. The celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Provincial Liberation Day and the Southern Liberation Day is not only an occasion to review history, but also an opportunity to further ignite faith and aspiration. The series of activities were not organized in a grand and ostentatious manner, but instead chose a close, community-oriented, in-depth and humane approach. Each stage of the organization – from invitations, reception, welcoming delegates, logistics, security and order to gifts, communications, and art programs – was carefully and meticulously prepared. All were aimed at the common goal: to create a solemn – practical – widespread and emotional anniversary.

And above all, that series of activities is an affirmation that: Binh Thuan people - with their tradition of resilience and solidarity - will continue to preserve historical values, preserve heroic memories to create a solid foundation for new steps, towards a modern, civilized and sustainably developed Binh Thuan in the integration period.
