On the morning of October 17, Da Nang continued to have heavy rain , causing residential areas in groups 27, 36, 42, 47... in Hoa Khanh Nam ward (Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city) to be flooded again.

According to the reporter's records at noon of the same day, in the residential area in lane 127, 161 Me Suot street (Hoa Khanh Nam ward), the water level was nearly 1 meter. Previously, in the flood on October 14, the residential area here was flooded more than 1.5 meters deep. After the water receded, people cleaned up their belongings, but this morning they had to continue moving their belongings to higher ground to avoid damage.

To ensure safety, the Mobile Police, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward Police, and ward militia went to people's houses in low-lying areas to assist people in moving their belongings and evacuating.

According to local residents, at around 3am the same day, the rain started pouring down and by 6am, water started flooding into houses. Many houses were flooded from 0.5 to 1m deep.

Speaking with VietNamNet, Mr. Bui Trung Khanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, said that this morning, the ward government, police and city mobile police evacuated more than 1,000 people from the flooded area.

"People were mainly evacuated to solid, high houses to ensure safety. 25 people were taken to the ward headquarters and provided with adequate food," Mr. Khanh informed.
