The Air Defense-Air Force (PK-KQ) has just completed a two-level, one-sided command-staff exercise on a map with a live-fire portion for units in the Central region. The exercise aims to train troops to adapt to modern warfare, contributing to improving the level of command organization, combat readiness, coordination, and cooperation between PK-KQ units as well as with related forces.
Visiting the combat team of Battalion 179 (Regiment 282, Division 375) conducting the retrieval, maneuvering, and deployment of equipment from regular positions to secret gathering areas, we saw the actions of the commander and the operations of the troops very urgent and rhythmic. Captain Ngo Si Minh, Deputy Battalion Commander of Battalion 179 said: "To successfully complete the mission, along with doing a good job of mission education, the unit has focused on training and improving the qualifications of the members of the combat team, ensuring proficiency from individual movements to team coordination...".
We learned that the Air Defense - Air Force Service set out the requirements for this exercise to be highly confrontational, fast-moving, with many forces and means participating, close to modern combat realities (in a cyberspace combat environment, the enemy uses high-tech weapons). To achieve the above requirements, Division 372 and Division 375 have proactively carried out thorough preparations, from issuing specialized resolutions to lead the implementation of the exercise, developing plans to organize the implementation, to preparing facilities, weapons, equipment, and document systems; consolidating the system of trenches, fortifications, and battlefields; organize to thoroughly grasp the task, build determination, train and practice the troops... Colonel Dao Hong Phuong, Division Commander of Division 375 said: "The unit has proactively built a specific and meticulous plan; focused on preparing carefully in terms of human resources, weapons, equipment and facilities; focused on training and improving the qualifications of the staff and education, building determination to be ready to complete the exercise task well for the troops...".

Following the exercise, we realized that, in order to improve the combat capabilities of the units to ensure closeness to modern combat reality, the Air Defense - Air Force Service has presented complex combat situations, intense and fierce combat, in different space and time conditions, the enemy uses high-tech weapons, electronic warfare... The units organize mobility, occupy the battlefield, deploy equipment to ensure time and absolute safety. In organizing preparation and practicing combat, the commander and the agency correctly and fully implement the content and order of combat staff work. The division command arrives at the transfer units in a timely manner, correctly determines the level 1 opportunity, the opportunity to take off, determines the determination to destroy the enemy, uses reasonable forces according to plan, and hits the right target. Division 372 and Division 375 coordinated and coordinated operations between command posts, between command and fire units, between air defense and air force forces, and were conducted closely, scientifically, and uniformly.
In addition, all units focus on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of Party and political work; operating in accordance with the correct mechanism, promoting the leadership role of Party committees and secretaries in promoting democracy, proposing leadership measures, directing the implementation of combat readiness tasks, coordinating, collaborating, and implementing wartime policies to ensure that units complete their tasks in all conditions and circumstances.
According to Colonel Hoang Trung Kien, Political Commissar of Division 372, the Party and political work of the Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar and political agency always closely follow the orders, directives and instructions from above, the situation and tasks of the unit. Therefore, in the stages of transitioning to combat readiness, organizing combat preparation, practicing combat and restoring combat strength, the unit has promoted the collective intelligence and strength to propose policies, measures for leadership, direction and timely and effective implementation.
Assessing the results of the exercise, Major General Vu Hong Son, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, affirmed: “The units were highly determined, proactively overcame difficulties and did a good job of preparation; the exercise achieved the set goals and requirements, closely following each stage, situation and combat conditions.
