In the summer of 2023, Man Utd spent £72 million to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. However, the Danish striker's performance has been abysmal. After 8 appearances in the Premier League, Hojlund has yet to score a single goal.

Furthermore, statistics show that Hojlund is significantly weaker than the average striker playing in the Premier League. Specifically, the player born in 2003 only averages 1.7 shots per 90 minutes in England's top league.
With this poor finishing record, Hojlund ranks only 100th among players who have played a minimum of 180 minutes in the Premier League.
Notably, the leader is Darwin Nunez (Liverpool) with 5.7 shots per game. Meanwhile, Rashford is 12th with 3.6 shots per game, and Bruno Fernandes is 36th with 2.9 shots per game.
This shows that Hojlund's positioning and ball control are indeed problematic. This is understandable for the Danish striker, given that he had just joined Man Utd and was not yet accustomed to the new style of play.

However, the worrying aspect is that Hojlund doesn't know how to capitalize on the few opportunities he gets. Furthermore, the 2003-born striker's ability to create chances is very poor; he hasn't had a single assist.
Hojlund only redeemed himself by scoring 3 goals in the Champions League. However, his performance did not live up to the £72 million that Man Utd spent on him. His composure in front of goal is considered a weakness of Hojlund.
It's worth noting that throughout his career, Hojlund has never had a season scoring more than 9 goals in the national league (10 goals in all competitions). Even last season, Hojlund only scored 9 goals for Atalanta in Serie A before being sold to Man Utd for a huge price.
