On the afternoon of August 21, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man - Head of the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians chaired a meeting with the National Secretariat and Heads of Subcommittees to review the progress of preparations for the Conference.
Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man - Head of the Conference Organizing Committee affirmed that the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians hosted by the Vietnamese National Assembly is an important foreign affairs event of our Party and State this year.
The Politburo assigned the National Assembly Party Delegation to preside over the implementation. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue paid close attention, chaired meetings and worked with each Subcommittee to approve the detailed scenario.
Mr. Tran Thanh Man emphasized that this is a very big political task, requiring all sectors, levels and units to do a good job of preparing and serving the Conference, leaving a good impression on delegates attending the Conference about the image of the country and people of Vietnam; reception and logistics work must be carefully ensured.
At the same time, the Conference Organizing Committee is requested to continue to direct, monitor and urge the Subcommittees to deploy their tasks according to the work items; coordinate with the subcommittees and agencies to develop the conference program, art program and rehearsal plan...

Regarding the Content Subcommittee, Mr. Tran Thanh Man suggested that the subcommittee urgently issue a project on the content of the Vietnamese delegation's participation at the Conference. The Information and Propaganda Subcommittee urgently coordinates with agencies and localities to actively implement information and propaganda work according to the approved Conference Information and Propaganda project. The National Conference Secretariat coordinates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the IPU Secretariat to review invitations and lists of registered delegates...
Emphasizing that there is not much time left for the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested relevant agencies, units and departments to promote a high sense of responsibility and actively carry out their tasks.
With experience in organizing major events before, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly believes that the Vietnamese National Assembly will successfully organize the Conference, affirming Vietnam's active, responsible and proactive participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union - IPU.
Previously, reporting on the preparations for the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, Standing Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee Thai Quynh Mai Dung - Head of the National Secretariat said that the Conference Organizing Committee had directed the National Secretariat to coordinate with the IPU Secretariat to send invitations to attend the Conference to IPU member parliaments and post the invitations on the IPU website. The Conference Organizing Committee agreed with the IPU Secretariat on the Program of Activities, agenda, theme explanations, and general information of the Conference.

Accordingly, the Conference will organize 3 thematic discussion sessions on Digital Transformation; Innovation and Startups and Promoting Respect for Cultural Diversity for Sustainable Development, combining both proposals from the Vietnamese National Assembly and the IPU.
Session 3 focused on discussing the role of parliamentarians and young parliamentarians in promoting respect for cultural diversity in the context of technological transformation and globalization, specifically:
Ethical digital cooperation and mitigating the unintended impacts of digital transformation on privacy, security and well-being; Promoting the role of culture in development policies at the national, regional and international levels;
Committed to protecting and promoting cultural diversity; creating a favorable environment and ecosystem for culture and cultural diversity; the role of culture and cultural diversity in sustainable development.
In addition, within the framework of the Conference, there will be a seminar on “Enhancing digital capacity for youth”; Exhibition of Innovation and Creativity achievements, OCOP products; Art performance program at the National Convention Center… .
