The launching ceremony was attended by leaders of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the City Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh City and more than 700 cadres, civil servants, soldiers of the armed forces, workers and representatives of the people in the city.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Ninh Binh City People's Committee launched and requested agencies, units, levels and sectors of the city to continue to thoroughly implement the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection and legal documents on environmental protection.
Organize communication campaigns on environmental protection, encourage the use of environmentally friendly products and technology that consume less energy, limit the use of raw materials that generate waste and pollute the environment, especially save electricity and clean water for daily life, protect water resources. Collect, classify, and treat household waste and plastic waste at the source.
At the same time, organize practical and specific activities in response to World Environment Day on June 5 such as: Hanging banners on roads, agencies, units, and public places to promote visual propaganda; organizing environmental cleaning campaigns in residential areas, agencies, units, schools, production and business establishments; actively planting trees, collecting and treating waste.
Implement a campaign to join hands in reducing plastic waste through practical actions such as: saying no to hard-to-decompose plastic bags and disposable plastic products; promoting the collection, recycling and reuse of plastic bags and disposable plastic products; encouraging consumers to use environmentally friendly products.
Strengthen inspection, examination, supervision, handling or proposing handling according to authority for establishments violating regulations of law on environmental protection, paying environmental protection tax according to regulations, especially for establishments collecting, transporting and processing plastic waste in the area.
The city also calls on agencies, organizations, individuals, departments, branches, sectors, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the city to strengthen leadership and direction, promote the responsibility of unit leaders in performing environmental protection tasks; take practical actions to build a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature; identify the task of protecting the environment as well as protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland as an important task of the entire Party, people, army and the entire political system.
At the launching ceremony, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment presented Ninh Binh city with 50 bins for waste classified at source.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, a large number of people, civil servants, armed forces soldiers, and workers in the city started to clean up the environment and collect garbage on the sidewalks and median strips of Le Thai To Street (from Trang An Street to the City Police Station). Communes and wards simultaneously started to clean up the environment in the area.
The launching ceremony in response to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, World Oceans Day, and World Environment Day is a meaningful activity with strong influence, calling on the community to act together to protect the environment and protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, cadres and women's union members participated in cleaning the environment on the central road of Mai Son commune.
