Delegates, cadres, soldiers, union members, youth and people of coastal communes collected and picked up trash after the launch ceremony.

Attending the launching ceremony were leaders of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Ninh Binh Province Department of Environment and Sea and Islands; leaders of Kim Son district; Con Noi Border Control Station; coastal communes of Kim Dong, Kim Trung, Kim Hai and nearly 200 union members and youths of communes and towns in the district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Khiem, Vice Chairman of Kim Son District People's Committee, stated: In line with the theme of World Oceans Day 2024, "Understanding the Ocean in a Deeper Way", implementing the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Vietnam's Marine Economy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the key theme of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week this year was chosen as "Management and Sustainable Use of Marine Space".

Kim Son is the only coastal district of Ninh Binh province, with a high economic growth rate with the advantage of a coastline of more than 18 km, endowed by nature with aquatic resources, seafood, potential for sea tourism, maritime transport... That also poses many challenges, facing risks due to the impact of climate change, rising sea levels, unsustainable resource exploitation activities, environmental pollution and degradation of marine ecosystems.

Kim Son district has been promoting the implementation of Resolution No. 11 dated June 26, 2022 of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee on sustainable development of the Kim Son coastal economic zone, period 2022-2030, in which environmental protection in general and marine environmental protection in particular have received strong leadership and direction. Kim Son District People's Committee has implemented many activities with the joint efforts and contributions of all classes of people, achieving positive results such as: Effectively maintaining the emulation movements "Green Saturday, Clean Sunday"; activities of launching general cleaning, periodic garbage collection on village roads, hamlets, and streets; environmental protection work in new rural construction has had positive changes in building bright, green, clean, and beautiful landscapes... The achieved results have been changing the landscape appearance in the district to become more and more beautiful, greener and cleaner.

In recent times, environmental protection work has been directed strongly and effectively by Kim Son district. However, environmental protection work in general still has certain limitations.
