Launch of photo book 'General Vo Nguyen Giap'

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the death of General Vo Nguyen Giap, towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), and the 112th anniversary of General Vo Nguyen Giap's birth, the News Publishing House compiled and published the photo book "General Vo Nguyen Giap".

The book gathers hundreds of photos of the General collected and selected from many different sources, bringing readers vivid images and detailed explanations recreating the General's life and career associated with the changes of the flow of history, with the struggles and victories of the Vietnamese army and people in the 20th century.

The book is divided into 3 parts: Part 1: Homeland, family, childhood (1911-1940); Part II: Military genius (1940-1975); Part III: Famous general of the era. The book is printed in Vietnamese - English and has a solemn and beautiful artistic design.

Throughout his life with more than 80 years of revolutionary activities, General - Commander-in-Chief Vo Nguyen Giap had many great achievements and especially outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people.

The name of General Vo Nguyen Giap is associated with the great victory of the two long resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism; with the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The Party, State and people of Vietnam highly appreciate the contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

Generations of cadres and soldiers honor him as the Elder Brother of the Vietnam People's Army. The person, personality and great contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap are deeply imprinted in the hearts of the people. He is a general of the people, forever famous in the history of the nation.

General Vo Nguyen Giap was not trained at any military school, but during his military career, he encountered many well-trained generals from famous military academies of the opposing army and he was always the winner.

He learned military art right in the reality of the battlefield, not only becoming a military commander with outstanding military talent, a master of military strategy and tactics, but also having great contributions to the formation and development of military doctrine - the unique people's war path of Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh era.
