Ninh Binh Club announces expensive new recruit

At the new season launch ceremony held on the afternoon of October 14, Ninh Binh Club introduced two quality new recruits. They are midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc and goalkeeper Dang Van Lam.

Hoang Duc joined Ninh Binh team from Viettel The Cong Club, after the great midfielder born in 1998 and the club reached an agreement to terminate the contract early, instead of waiting until January 2025 to find a new destination.

One of the reasons why Ninh Binh FC hastened the deal was because midfielder Do Van Thuan was injured right before the season. It is expected that Van Thuan will go to Singapore for final treatment.

The presence of two national players helps Ninh Binh Club increase its chances of participating in V-League next season.

Hoang Duc was promoted to the first team of The Cong Viettel in 2019, after a period of training in the youth team. After 6 years, the midfielder from Hai Duong played 141 matches, scoring 19 goals for his home team. Hoang Duc and The Cong Viettel won the 2020 V-League, finished second in the 2023 National Cup, and won the bronze medal of the 2023 V-League.

In the colors of the Vietnamese national team at all levels, Hoang Duc played 41 matches, scoring 4 goals in all competitions. He won the Vietnamese Golden Ball twice.

In 2021, Hoang Duc was close to the opportunity to play in Thailand. A year later, he was approached by a Korean team. However, both deals failed because The Cong Viettel did not agree to negotiate.

However, when the contract between the two sides was about to end and Hoang Duc refused to renew, The Cong Viettel team let the star player leave. At the beginning of this season, Hoang Duc still played, but he did not play fully for The Cong Viettel. The 26-year-old player either started and was withdrawn, or only came on as a substitute.

Besides the current Vietnamese Golden Ball, Ninh Binh Club also owns the current Vietnamese Bronze Ball, goalkeeper Dang Van Lam.

Ninh Binh Club is preparing for its 10th season.

The goalkeeper born in 1993 joined Ninh Binh Club after reaching an agreement to leave Binh Dinh. During his career, Van Lam played for Hai Phong, Muangthong United, Cerezo Osaka, Binh Dinh, before being demoted to the first division to wear the current team's shirt.

Van Lam was trained in Russia with Dynamo Moscow. He played for the Vietnamese national team for 8 years, won the AFF Cup 2018, reached the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup 2019 and the third qualifying round of the World Cup 2022 as the number one goalkeeper.

With Van Lam, Hoang Duc, Van Thuan and Ngoc Son, Ninh Binh Club of coach Nguyen Viet Thang is the team with the most national players in the first division.

Ninh Binh Club's Ambition

Ten years ago, Ninh Binh Stadium was a "hotbed" of passion, witnessing the progress of the ancient capital's football team with the National Cup and National Super Cup championships in 2013, as well as a surprise quarter-final spot in the AFC Cup 2013. Those emotional images are about to return as Ninh Binh football is making strong changes.

In the 2024 - 2025 first division, Van Lam and Hoang Duc's team will aim to play in the V-League.

Coach Nguyen Viet Thang shared: "With the current investment and force, Ninh Binh team sets the highest goal (winning the championship, which means winning the promotion ticket). Ninh Binh club has quality new players to supplement the attack line such as Hoang Duc, Quoc Viet, in addition, we also welcome Van Lam, Huu Tuan, Thanh Binh, Thanh Thinh. Good players like Hoang Duc, Van Lam have proven their class in the Vietnam team. They are very quality additions.

The first division has many formidable teams, including PVF-CAND. In recent seasons, they have achieved high rankings in the first division and played on par with V-League teams in the play-off series. For example, last season, PVF-CAND played very well in the play-off match with Ha Tinh. This season, the promotion race will take place between three names: Ninh Binh, Binh Phuoc and PVF-CAND."

Sharing with the press at the departure ceremony, both Van Lam and Hoang Duc affirmed that they will play their best to help Ninh Binh team win promotion tickets.

"I am very excited about the Ninh Binh Club project. I want to help the team get promoted, or further, together towards the Asian playground. This is the team's plan and ambition, I want to try my best to contribute to its implementation. In addition, Ninh Binh Club also has a football project. I hope to be able to take advantage of my time to share my passion with young talents," Hoang Duc confided.

Ninh Binh Club will start the new season, with a match against Ho Chi Minh City Club in the preliminary round of the 2024 - 2025 National Cup taking place on October 20. On October 26, Hoang Duc and his teammates will play round 1 of the 2024 - 2025 First Division with an away match at Khanh Hoa Stadium.

Within the framework of the departure ceremony, Ninh Binh Club and two players Nguyen Hoang Duc and Dang Van Lam contributed 3 billion VND to support the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by 2025" launched by the Prime Minister.
