On April 20, in Hanoi, the Truth National Political Publishing House held a ceremony to introduce the book series "Vo Nguyen Giap - The People's General" edited by Associate Professor, Doctor Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the Truth National Political Publishing House.
This is a meaningful and practical activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).
General Vo Nguyen Giap - the genius General of the Vietnamese people, one of the greatest commanders of all time, a master strategist, is not only a monument in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, but his name has left a deep impression in the hearts of international friends. The name Vo Nguyen Giap has become extremely close and familiar to the people, peace-loving people of countries around the world.
Throughout his life with more than 80 years of revolutionary activities, General Vo Nguyen Giap has set a shining example of a communist with courage, creativity, loyalty, dedication, and many great achievements and outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people.
The General's life and career are closely linked to the development of the Vietnamese revolution and the important, glorious, sacrificial and arduous historical milestones of the Party and the nation. The General's name and career will always live forever with the country, the people and the history of mankind.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, Truth, said that with love, pride and deep gratitude to those who made the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory, the National Political Publishing House, Truth, organized the book introduction ceremony "Vo Nguyen Giap - The People's General" published in Vietnamese and bilingual in 5 languages including Vietnamese-English, Vietnamese-French, Vietnamese-Spanish, Vietnamese-Chinese, Vietnamese-Arab, to contribute to meeting the needs of domestic and foreign readers to learn and research about the life and career of General Vo Nguyen Giap.
According to Associate Professor, Doctor Vu Trong Lam, the great victories of the Vietnamese revolution that General and Commander-in-Chief Vo Nguyen Giap contributed to changed the flow of national history, had a strong impact on world history, made him a famous general of all time, left a brilliant mark in military history, contributed to enriching Vietnamese military art, formed Vietnamese military doctrine in the Ho Chi Minh era, left profound value for the cause of building a national defense for all people, firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
With outstanding talent and tireless efforts for the country, General and Commander-in-Chief Vo Nguyen Giap had many great achievements and made especially outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, contributing to the glorious victories of the Vietnamese people in the Ho Chi Minh era.
At the ceremony, delegates and readers listened to valuable information, lessons, and touching stories from Colonel Trinh Nguyen Huan, former Secretary of General Vo Nguyen Giap - who spent nearly 40 years by the General's side as well as from General Vo Nguyen Giap's family. From that useful information, the public and readers had the opportunity to approach and understand more deeply the life, career, and personality of General Vo Nguyen Giap, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army.
Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Saleem Hammad - Arabic translator of the book "Vo Nguyen Giap - The General of the People", said he hopes that a large number of Arabs will read and understand the life and great achievements of General Vo Nguyen Giap that he left for the Vietnamese people as well as for humanity.
