Launching a book series to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station

On April 24, in Hanoi, the People's Army Publishing House coordinated with the Academy of Politics to launch the book series "Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification" and responding to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025.

Half a century has passed, but the victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country is still a brilliant milestone in the history of thousands of years of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of this important historical event, the People's Army Publishing House organized the editing and publication of the book series "Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (1975 - 2025)" including 15 titles, which are typical works selected from the massive treasure currently preserved to reprint and publish new manuscripts written, researched, and compiled about the resistance war against the US to save the country through the passage of time with new materials and expressions.

The book series has many different genres such as: monographs, memoirs, historical reports, epic novels, long poems, literary criticism theories and especially the photo book " Ho Chi Minh City - 50 years of glorious golden name (1975 - 2025)".

Also on this occasion, the People's Army Publishing House cooperated with Vietnam Book Culture Knowledge Joint Stock Company (Vietnambook) to publish a series of books on the same topic, aiming to expand the scope of distribution to serve soldiers and people across the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To welcomed the People's Army Publishing House for proactively developing a plan, inviting many authors both inside and outside the army to organize the editing and completion of the publication of a valuable book series. The Army Publishing House has taken great care in selecting the genre and authors, helping readers enjoy a rich spiritual food. Thereby, helping readers gain a deeper understanding of the nation's history, of the resistance war against the US to save the country, of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975; contributingto educating the tradition of patriotism and national pride for today's and future generations, continuing the heroic tradition of previous generations, determined to successfully carry out the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new era.

The Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army emphasized: The book series completed and introduced today is even more meaningful because it is organized on the occasion of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025; at the same time, it is organized at the Academy of Politics, a leading center for education, training, and research on military social sciences and humanities of the Army and the Nation.

On this occasion, the speakers were Professor, Dr. Dinh Xuan Dung, former Vice Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art; Colonel, Writer Chu Lai and poet Tran Dang Khoa, Vice President of the Vietnam Writers Association, discussed reading culture and introduced some typical books.
