Previously, on September 12, 2023, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 1971/QD-UBND on the establishment of the Steering Committee for Logistics Development in Da Nang City.
According to the decision, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong is the Head of the Committee; Ms. Le Thi Kim Phuong, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, is the Standing Deputy Head of the Committee.
The Steering Committee is responsible for advising and assisting the City People's Committee in coordinating activities related to logistics development, developing plans and implementing logistics activities according to the Prime Minister's directives.
In particular, this Board also undertakes the task of advising on the effective implementation of the project "Developing Da Nang logistics services to effectively connect with the Central Key Economic Zone and the East-West Economic Corridor for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050".
According to the decision, the City Department of Industry and Trade is assigned to act as the standing agency of the Steering Committee; at the same time, preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, organizations and units to help the Steering Committee synthesize, evaluate and report on the implementation situation and results.
Recently, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 2117/QD-UBND dated October 2, 2024 on the establishment of a Working Group to implement the establishment of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone. Accordingly, the Head of the Working Group is Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong; The Standing Deputy Head of the Working Group is Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Le Thi Kim Phuong.
The working group is responsible for advising the City People's Committee to establish and submit to the competent authority to issue a decision to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and the operating regulations of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone; advising on the full, timely and effective implementation of the tasks assigned in the appendix of the Detailed Plan for piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the city's development issued together with Decision No. 1800/QD-UBND dated August 20, 2024 of the City People's Committee.
The Department of Industry and Trade is the standing agency of the working group and is responsible for monitoring, synthesizing, and reporting on the progress of the implementation of the tasks of the working group at the request of the team leader and competent authorities; advising on the content of urging and directing the implementation of tasks to ensure the set progress.
