Determined to improve the quality of new rural commune criteria in the 2021-2025 period

According to the report, by May 2024, the whole province had 74/122 communes completing 19/19 criteria for new rural communes (accounting for 60.65%). The Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision to recognize 62 communes meeting new rural standards, 8 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 1 commune meeting model new rural standards. The average new rural construction criteria reached 15.8 criteria/commune.

However, there are 45 communes that have met new rural standards but failed to maintain 19/19 criteria.

Many reasons have been identified, including the fact that the new rural commune criteria for the 2021-2025 period have many criteria with added content and adjusted to a higher level of achievement. Specifically: increasing from 49 to 59 criteria, an increase of 10 criteria compared to the 2016-2020 period.

Provincial People's Council delegates raised many questions about the responsibility of authorities at all levels, departments and functional branches in maintaining criteria in communes; solutions to improve the quality of criteria to ensure sustainability.

In which, the focus is on accelerating the progress of adjusting the master plan for commune construction, reducing the multidimensional poverty rate, improving housing criteria, organizing production and developing rural economy, environment and food safety...

Comrade Van Dinh Thao, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment spoke at the meeting.

Along with that is the allocation of resources for communes that meet new rural standards to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria; propagating and maximizing the role of the people as the main subjects in building new rural areas...

Leaders of sectors, units and localities explained the issues raised by the Provincial People's Council delegates, and at the same time proposed and recommended solutions to remove difficulties and effectively implement the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, especially improving the quality of new rural commune criteria in the 2021-2025 period in Tuyen Quang province.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Thi Minh Xuan requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments, branches, districts and cities to immediately overcome the shortcomings and limitations pointed out through the survey report of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee.
