Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong visited the Consulate General of Vietnam in Savannakhet province

Continuing the working trip to Savannakhet province (Laos), today December 11, a delegation of Quang Tri province led by Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong visited the Consulate General of Vietnam in Savannakhet province.

During the visit, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong informed the Vietnamese Consulate General about the content of the annual border talks between Quang Tri and Savannakhet provinces that took place on December 10. The success of the talks has contributed significantly to maintaining and stabilizing the border security of the province with Laos and further strengthening the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

The Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the attention and support of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Savannakhet in its role as a bridge to promote the friendly and cooperative relationship between Quang Tri and Savannakhet provinces. At the same time, he said that Quang Tri province is currently promoting cooperation and foreign relations with border localities of Laos to perfect mechanisms, programs and projects to facilitate trade of goods and people-to-people exchanges in the border areas.

In particular, the province is coordinating with Lao provinces to build the Lao Bao - Densavan cross-border economic and trade zone, and hopes to receive support from the Vietnamese Consulate General to contribute to exploiting the local development potential on the East-West Economic Corridor, as well as promoting the development cooperation relationship between Quang Tri province and the provinces of Central and Southern Laos.

Vietnamese Consul General in Savannakhet province Dang Thi Hai Tam highly appreciated the cooperation between Quang Tri province and Savannakhet province in recent times, which has contributed to promoting the socio-economic development of the localities and hoped that Quang Tri province would further strengthen development cooperation with Lao localities in many other fields.

At the same time, he said he would continue to accompany and support the locality in developing important projects between Quang Tri province and Savannakhet province effectively and substantially, contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship between Quang Tri and the provinces of Central and Southern Laos to be increasingly sustainable and in-depth.

On the same day, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong and Deputy Governor of Savannakhet Province Ling-thong Seng-ta-van and members of the delegation offered incense at the Memorial Temple of Vietnamese and Lao martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Lam Son 719 campaign in Se Pon district, Savannakhet province; visited and presented gifts to the Management Board of Ban Dong Museum in Se Pon district.
