According to the People's Committee of Tra Bong District, Tra Hiep Commune is located in the mountainous area of this district, with 500 households/2,360 people, poor households account for more than 62%. Of which, the number of Kor ethnic students accounts for 99.5%. Students in this area are not yet fluent in the common language, and school facilities for teaching and learning are still makeshift, not meeting the needs to improve the quality of learning of students.

Ms. Dinh Thi Son, Principal of Tra Hiep Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, said that the school has more than 430 students, of which 281 are eligible for boarding (from grades 3 to 9), but the school can only accommodate 205 students for meals and accommodation. Therefore, dozens of students have to leave every day.
Over the past years, Tra Bong district has invested in taking care of the district's education, including building school infrastructure from the district budget and from capital sources of national target programs. However, due to the difficulties of a poor mountainous district, resources for building schools and classrooms are not guaranteed, so in the district there are still many schools that do not have enough facilities for teaching and learning, including Tra Hiep Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities. Since then, the quality of education has been somewhat affected.

To support Tra Bong district and the Kor people of Tra Hiep commune, the Golden Faith Fund and PNJ have decided to support 4.5 billion VND to build Tra Hiep Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities. Accordingly, the school will be built on 2 floors, including 8 classrooms, combined with 4 toilets for students, along with teaching and learning equipment such as student desks and chairs, televisions, etc.
This is considered a meaningful gift from the Golden Faith Fund and PNJ, adding motivation to teachers and students of Tra Hiep commune on their journey to conquer knowledge. According to Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung, Chairwoman of the Golden Faith Fund Management Board, the unit always implements practical projects to improve living conditions and environments for women and children in difficult circumstances, with the aim of building a foundation for positive and long-term development for the community. Therefore, building schools for students in extremely difficult areas is extremely necessary, in order to serve teaching and learning, adding confidence and motivation to teachers and students on their journey to conquer knowledge.
Sharing at the groundbreaking ceremony, Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung said that initially, the unit only sponsored 3 billion VND to build the school. However, after surveying, it was found that the school really needed it, so they decided to sponsor up to 4.5 billion VND, to support more teaching and learning equipment and toilets.
"Supporting and encouraging the development of education for children in disadvantaged areas is the goal that the Golden Faith Fund and PNJ are aiming for, joining hands for a strong Vietnam," said Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung.
The school is expected to be completed in March 2025.
Mr. Do Dinh Phuong, Vice Chairman of Tra Bong District People's Committee, said that the unit is very grateful for the kindness from the Golden Faith Fund and PNJ to the students in the highlands of Tra Hiep commune. Accordingly, the district will be responsible for monitoring and supervising so that the school is built with the right quality and as designed.
According to the People's Committee of Tra Bong District, it is expected that the school will be built within 5 months and completed around March 2025.
