According to the report of the Customs Department, in March 2025, the total import and export value of goods nationwide reached 75.39 billion USD, an increase of 18.2% over the previous month, equivalent to an increase of 11.62 billion USD.
Of which, exports were 38.51 billion USD, up 23.8%, equivalent to an increase of 7.4 billion USD, and imports were 36.88 billion USD, up 12.9%, equivalent to an increase of 4.22 billion USD.
In the first quarter of 2025, the total import-export value of the whole country reached 202.52 billion USD, up 13.7%, equivalent to an increase of 24.39 billion USD over the same period last year. Of which, the export value in the first quarter of 2025 reached 102.84 billion USD, up 10.6%, equivalent to an increase of 9.89 billion USD over the same period last year; the import value in the first quarter of 2025 was 99.68 billion USD, up 17%, equivalent to an increase of 14.51 billion USD over the same period last year.

Vietnam's trade balance of goods in March 2025 had a surplus of 1.63 billion USD. In the first quarter of 2025, the trade surplus of goods was 3.15 billion USD, down 59.4% compared to the surplus of 7.77 billion USD in the same period last year.
The total import-export value of FDI enterprises in the first quarter of 2025 was 136.34 billion USD, up 12.3% (equivalent to an increase of 14.91 billion USD) over the same period last year. Of which, exports reached 73.44 billion USD, up 9.5%, equivalent to an increase of 6.35 billion USD and imports reached 62.9 billion USD, up 15.8%, equivalent to an increase of 8.56 billion USD.
The total import-export value of domestic enterprises in the first quarter of 2025 reached 66.18 billion USD, up 16.7% over the same period last year, equivalent to an increase of 9.48 billion USD. The export value of this enterprise sector reached 29.4 billion USD, up 13.7%, equivalent to an increase of 3.53 billion USD, and the import value reached 36.78 billion USD, up 19.3%, equivalent to an increase of 5.95 billion USD over the same period last year.
