Vice Chairman of Dakrong District People's Committee Le Dai Loi said that implementing Project 5 under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, in the first quarter of 2024, Dakrong District supported the construction and repair of 157 houses for poor and near-poor households. Of which, 155 households were supported to build new houses, 2 households were supported to repair houses, 100% of the supported households were ethnic minorities. The total disbursed capital was 15,902 million VND, of which the central budget was 15,632 million VND; other legally mobilized capital was 270 million VND (source mobilized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province).
The implementation of housing support for poor and near-poor households is carried out by the district in accordance with regulations and targets. For households with many members of working age, self-implementation is encouraged, combined with mobilizing workdays from relatives.

For some single-parent households, it is difficult to assign construction teams and hand over the house after completion. The quality of the house construction must ensure "3 hard" (hard foundation, hard frame - wall, hard roof).
After being supported to build or repair, the house must have a minimum usable area of 30 m2 . For households that can mobilize labor and provide family resources, the house area after implementation will reach over 50 m2 .
According to Mr. Loi, in the process of supporting the construction and repair of houses for poor and near-poor households, the district encountered many difficulties. Therefore, the district proposed that the Ministry of Construction provide guidance on the content of whether to integrate loan support (according to the provisions of Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP, dated April 26, 2022 of the Government) or support for creating land and technical infrastructure for residential land (according to Decision No. 04/2023/QD-TTg, dated February 23, 2023 of the Prime Minister) from the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period to support beneficiaries of housing support projects for poor and near-poor households under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction.
