TPO – Many locations on National Highway 1A through Cam Xuyen and Ky Anh districts (Ha Tinh province) have potholes, peeling, and rutting after prolonged heavy rain. The road management unit said that prolonged heavy rain and high traffic volume have caused the road to deteriorate.

National Highway 1A through Ha Tinh province is 128 km long, starting from Ben Thuy bridge and ending at Deo Ngang. This is the most important traffic route, considered the "backbone" of the road traffic system through the area. However, after a long period of operation, currently, many locations on National Highway 1A through Ha Tinh have many sections and locations where the road surface is damaged, peeling, and rutted. |
In addition to the degraded sections of National Highway 1A from the south of Ben Thuy Bridge to the north of the 35km Ha Tinh City bypass, which is being repaired and upgraded by the management unit, potholes and rutted road surfaces have also appeared along the route through Cam Xuyen, Ky Anh districts and Ky Anh town. In the photo is a damaged section through Cam Xuyen town (Cam Xuyen district). |
According to observations, in the Cau Rac area (Cam Minh commune, Cam Xuyen district), many locations of the road surface are uneven and have some potholes, posing a danger to road users. The road surface degradation also appears on the route through Ky Dong and Ky Khang communes (Ky Anh district). |
“It has been raining heavily these past few days, many places near Rac Bridge have potholes. This is also a curve so it is quite dangerous for traffic,” said Mr. Thong (35 years old, Cam Xuyen district). |
The connection point on the surface of the Garbage Bridge is also peeling off the plastic, showing signs of deterioration. |
Many sections of the road and locations are damaged and have potholes, but they are only temporarily filled with a few rocks and asphalt, causing traffic insecurity and potential traffic accidents. |
Mr. Vo Truong Giang - Head of Road Management Office II.3 (Road Management Area II - Vietnam Road Administration) said that the unit regularly inspects and requests units assigned to maintain and repair damaged areas. In the picture, the asphalt is peeling off along with a large amount of rocks and gravel covering the road surface. |
“The prolonged heavy rain and large traffic volume make deterioration and damage inevitable. Repairs are only partial to ensure safety for people and vehicles passing by because the annual renovation budget is limited, which is very difficult,” Mr. Giang shared. In the photo is a repair location of Ho Bridge (Cam Xuyen district). The construction unit has blocked half of the road, but many days of rain have caused the construction to be temporarily suspended. |
