(NLDO)- In addition to renaming National Highway 1 and National Highway 22 after famous leaders, Ho Chi Minh City also renamed 13 roads in District 7, District 12 and Tan Phu.


At the closing session of the 20th session of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council (the last session of the year), term X, 2021-2026, held on the morning of December 11, delegates unanimously passed a Resolution on naming streets, public works and adjusting routes in the area.

With the resolution passed, Ho Chi Minh City officially has more streets named after Party and State leaders. The named streets are located on national highways passing through Ho Chi Minh City.

Specifically, Do Muoi Street belongs to National Highway 1, from Thu Duc intersection (old station 2 intersection) to An Suong intersection, in Thu Duc City and District 12. The route is more than 21,000m long, with a road width of 120m.

Le Duc Anh Street is part of National Highway 1, from An Suong intersection to An Lac roundabout, in District 12, Hoc Mon District, Binh Tan District. The road is over 14,200 m long, with a road width of 120 m.

Le Kha Phieu Street is part of National Highway 1, from An Lac roundabout to Long An province border, in Binh Tan and Binh Chanh districts. The route is over 9,400 m long, with a road width of 120 m.

Hoang Cam Street is part of National Highway 1K, from National Highway 1 to the border of Binh Duong province, passing through Thu Duc City. The route is more than 1,800 m long, with a road width of 60 m.

Le Quang Dao Street is part of National Highway 22, from National Highway 1 to An Ha Bridge, passing through Hoc Mon District, District 12. The route is more than 10,000 m long, with a road width of 60 m.

Phan Van Khai Street is part of National Highway 22, from An Ha Bridge to the Tay Ninh provincial border, located in Cu Chi district. The road is more than 20,000 m long, with a road width of 120 m.

Van Tien Dung Street starts from Nhi Thien Duong Bridge to Long An Province border, in District 8 and Binh Chanh District. The route is nearly 11,000 m long, with a road width of 40 m.

Previously, localities had consulted local residents and achieved a high consensus rate on new street naming options.

Naming some streets after Party and State leaders and commanders of the Ho Chi Minh campaign is a very meaningful activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The resolution also stipulates new street names for many routes in District 7, District 12 and Tan Phu.

Naming the park in front of Reunification Hall

With the Resolution on naming streets, public works and adjusting routes in the area, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also agreed on naming public works in District 1 and Thu Duc City.

Accordingly, the park in front of Reunification Hall and the bridge to Kim Cuong Island will be given a new name.

The park in front of the Reunification Hall (Independence Palace) is named April 30 Park. This public work has an area of ​​over 3.5 hectares, located in Ben Nghe ward (District 1), bounded by the routes Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Han Thuyen - Cong Truong Cong Xa Paris - Pham Ngoc Thach - Alexandre de Rhodes.

The bridge, which is temporarily called the Diamond Island Bridge located on Tran Quy Kien Street (Thu Duc City), will be renamed Tran Quy Kien Bridge. The bridge is over 291 meters long and 18 meters wide.
