On May 25, at the Tauride Palace, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh held talks with Vice Chairman of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskin. At the meeting, Mr. Yatskin happily recalled the good impressions of high-ranking delegations from the Russian Federation to Vietnam, affirmed that the Russian leadership attaches importance to relations with Vietnam and between the legislative bodies of the two countries, wishes to promote key projects between the two countries, and sent greetings from Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko to Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia Andrey Yatskin also proposed to include the promotion of organic production, which the Vietnamese representative recently delivered a speech at the 10th Nevsky International Ecological Congress, in the agenda of cooperation between the two parliamentary friendship groups of the two countries. Mr. Yatskin said that he regularly discussed with the Governor and leaders of St. Petersburg during the process of implementing and constructing the monument of President Ho Chi Minh in the city and the necessary preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the monument on June 30, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Uncle Ho's first arrival in the Soviet Union, specifically Petrograd, now St. Petersburg.

For his part, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh expressed his joy at leading the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation to attend the 10th Nevsky International Ecological Congress, appreciating the significance of the Congress in the context of humanity facing many environmental challenges. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh also affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, and will never forget the good feelings and valuable assistance that the people of the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation today have given to Vietnam.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh also discussed the resolution of existing issues in economic and trade relations between the two countries, and proposed that Russia support upgrading and amending the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in a way that facilitates bilateral cooperation; facilitates the promotion of labor cooperation in industries where both sides have needs and strengths, and simplifies visas for citizens of the two countries. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also expressed his hope that the National Assembly and the Government of the Russian Federation will continue to support Russian oil and gas enterprises to cooperate with Vietnam in oil and gas exploration and exploitation in the East Sea in accordance with international law.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam always highly appreciates and hopes that Russia will continue to support the viewpoint of resolving the issue in the East Sea by peaceful means, on the basis of international law, the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), contributing to maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world. Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation - an important pillar in cooperation between the two countries, and in the current context, it is even more necessary to strengthen parliamentary cooperation to promote cooperation support activities between the two governments.

At the meeting, Mr. Bondarenko was pleased to announce the diverse areas of cooperation between the St. Petersburg city government and Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese localities. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh thanked the city government for the warm and sincere welcome given to the Vietnamese delegation, expressing his admiration for the ancient and beautiful city of St. Petersburg, the cultural center of Russia with great works that are well preserved and maintained. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh affirmed that in the cooperative relationship between the two countries, the cooperative relationship between localities is very practical and plays a very important role, expressing his gratitude and hope that the Russian Federation and St. Petersburg city will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, work stably, integrate into the locality, and contribute to maintaining and promoting the relationship between the two countries.

On May 25, the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation attended the opening session of the 10th Nevsky International Ecological Congress, attended and read a speech at the discussion session on "Organic production: Opportunities, prospects and international cooperation".

Previously, on the afternoon of May 24, the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation worked with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the St. Petersburg city government, presenting the St. Petersburg city government and High School No. 488 with many valuable documents about President Ho Chi Minh to be placed in the Ho Chi Minh Museum in St. Petersburg.
